He glanced up from his reading when he heard the person near him musing aloud. Tadeo didn’t know if they were looking for a response, but he figured maybe it was rude to leave those words just hanging in the air? “Um... maybe someone should be there in case of injury? It’s easy to get hurt in a gym, so...” He shrugged, not really sure of any other reason.

               HUNTER HAYES WAS impressed. And over the years, that had become harder to do. He walked around his cabin, satisfied that everything was exactly as he had asked for. Turned out the million dollar fee was worth it. Taking off his blazer, he tossed it over one of the sofas, and headed to the small pre-stocked kitchen. He grabbed a bottle of beer, and uncorked it, taking a few large gulps. To him, water and beer had become one and the same. There was a sound at the door, and curious eyes turned to look. 

              “Can I help you?” He asked, smile in place after he opened the door and greeted the person standing outside.

He wasn’t sure what possessed him to go looking, but he was lonely, maybe a little on edge. The woman he’d walked with a few days previous - Elsa - had been very nice and he was hoping he’d get to spend a little more time in her calming presence. He wasn’t sure of the protocol on this type of thing. So he went to the cabin he thought might be hers, nervously looking for any guards as he knocked. Dark eyes widened when he saw someone who was definitely not Elsa answer the door. “Oh. Um... sorry, Sir, I... I must have the wrong cabin,” he said, rubbing the back of his neck. “I’m sorry to disturb you.”

“No, it’s not what it looks like.” Cat spluttered, snapping the book shut. Reading in the common room wasn’t the best idea, but it had been quiet. Too quiet. And she had just started getting to the good part, too.

Tadeo cocked his head and shrugged, noting her choice of book. He wouldn’t admit it, but he’d read it too, mostly out of curiosity. “It’s... I didn’t see anything,” he said with a little nod, going over to another empty couch and cracking his own book.

Nodding with a frown, “I feel that, this whole place is really a lot to kind of just accept you know? I was so close too, just a few more obnoxiously long papers to go”

“You’ve got that right,” he said under his breath, trying once more not to think of the circumstances that had brought him here. “Wow. Obnoxiously long - how obnoxiously long are we talking?”

Elliot smiled and shook his head. “It’s okay,” he assured the other. He didn’t care if someone wanted to rant about something to him, sometimes it was easier to talk to a stranger. “Well, personally, I think you should sing. Mostly because it makes you think of her - that isn’t a bad thing.”

“I... I don’t want to disturb anyone though. It’s - especially in here,” he said, waving his arm slightly to indicate the peaceful garden around them. Tadeo looked to the stranger, then shifted on the bench, making more space for him to sit if he wanted. “I just came in here to read but it, it’s so peaceful in here.”

Somehow, her plan didn’t work because it seemed like not saying anything was able to startle him more when his eyes finally opened. Delilah hasn’t really considered that since she just didn’t want to ruin the peaceful expression on his face while he was humming. With an apologetic look crossing her face, the brunette muttered her apologies quickly, “S-sorry– I didn’t mean to startle you. W-what were you humming?”

Among his flailing, he managed to sit up without too much trouble, straightening his glasses. “It’s okay. I’m... jumpy by nature. Like a deer or something,” he told her. “A lullaby my mom used to sing. She uh... she sang a lot.” Lame, yes, but also the truth. And he was so not good at this human interaction thing.

“Well, I don’t think you’re weird,” Elsa said honestly, giving him another reassuring squeeze, “I really like being escorted, actually. I haven’t really had this happen before.” She made a mental note of the peanut allergy, just in case for future reference and continued to walk with Tadeo. At his comment, she didn’t immediately respond beyond a shrug and tried to decide on an appropriate response. “I think I’ll just say that things have changed a lot over the years,” her answer was vague and while she felt that he would eventually be trustworthy, she wasn’t going to push that yet. “It looks darker out than I thought, do you want to come to my cabin? In case it rains. I can cook you something to eat. No peanuts.”

He smiled over at her again, relaxing by infinite degrees the longer he spent with her. The paranoid part of him would still scream in the back of his mind that she had the power, but for now, he thought maybe he was okay. “Well, I’m happy to escort you,” Tadeo told her quietly. Curious, dark eyes watched her as she spoke, leading him to stumble a bit but he recovered quickly. “Things do that.” At her words, his stomach growled, making his cheeks heat. “I guess that’s your answer? I, I can help too. I’m not a total mess in the kitchen.”

“Yeah, come on,” Fin stood up and signaled for Tadeo to follow with a nod, “We’ll talk and it’s your pace. If nothing happens, nothing happens, but I’m an open book with this shit. No stupid questions or something like that.” He laughed at his wording, knowing he wasn’t the best at comforting someone in this situation.

He got to his feet and let out a sharp breath. Fin’s honest, brusque attitude should have put him on edge. Instead, he kind of liked it. Tadeo had no reason to trust him, but for some reason, he kind of did. “Okay. Good. So um... is this... something you do often? With people like me?”

          pearlescent teeth sunk into the cherry hued lips to try to hide her smile. “       it’s okay.” she shrugged. “it’s not uncommon, really, at least i DON’T think it is, i wouldn’t know.” she muttered. 

His cheeks touched pink, and he ran his hand back through his hair. “From my limited understanding of pop culture that doesn’t involve men in capes, it seems to be?” Tadeo straightened his glasses, fidgeting for lack of focus. “Where are you from?”

“Come on, come on…” the guard said, whacking Tadeo lightly on the arm. Becker wasn’t the kind to be cruel for the sake of being cruel, he was much more tactful. If he wanted to hurt you, it would simply hurt because he’d hit her nerve junction that would half paralyze you or slam his center knuckle into that one soft spot in your spine that shot pain all the way to your brain. “You need to learn where you can and cannot go, or someone will take it very personally to teach you.”

Though he hadn’t had the most loving or easiest life, Tadeo hadn’t been hit like this for no apparent reason. He honestly hadn’t heard anything about where he was supposed to be. But apparently he needed to pay better attention. The light blow didn’t hurt, but it wasn’t particularly pleasant either. “I th-thought... I thought I could be in here,” he said shakily, finally managing to get ahold of his book, clutching it to his chest like a shield.

“That’s fine, I can,” Fin kept his usual grin, not affected by Tadeo’s obvious anxiety. “Take your time. If there’s something specific you want, speak freely. You’re good with me, so just let me know when you want to go and we will. Your pace, alright?”

He let out a short, sharp breath. “Could we um.. talk? M-maybe back at your place? Just um... to get... comfortable? Is that a thing that people do?”

“Okay, don’t worry. We’ll go to my cabin,” Fin decided, but didn’t stand up right away, not trying to rush the other man into something he hadn’t done before. “So, whenever we get there, do you want me to go down on you? Have you had that before?” he asked, trying to get him to talk instead of simply nodding.

Tadeo let out a breath he didn’t know he’d been holding. “Okay,” he said softly. At the question, he shifted, an unexpected rush of heat going through him. That wasn’t something he thought the other man would say. “No, Sir. I haven’t. I um.. if you want to? I’m... fuck,” he breathed. “I’m sorry. I’m just some sort of completely virginal mess right now.”

Vanessa clicked her tongue, watching him. “Not exactly. Somebody should have explained that to you, but no big deal. I have you now, right?” She shrugged. “It’s a nice day out. I don’t usually do this, but we could have the appointment outside, if you’re feeling up to it?”

He let out a shaky breath, hitching on a smile that wouldn’t convince anyone. “I guess so? Why not?” he agreed, not really sure what was going to come of this. He didn’t think his mental state needed to be assessed, but it seemed he didn’t have much choice.

He gulped, only managing to look up at the other man and nod. He was terrified, but also weirdly turned on at the thought of just going for it with this man he didn’t know.

            “        DEFINITELY not.” the irish woman mused, reclining back in her seat slightly as she watched him. “sorry to offend anyone but i’m not fuckin’ crazy.” she shrugged. “sex is too much of an effort to deal with.”

“I wouldn’t know,” he said without thinking. Instantly his cheeks flared red when he realized what he’d said. “God, I need to think before I open my mouth sometimes,” Tadeo muttered, reaching up to pinch his brow.

“English,” he said with a grin, “I was in the middle of my masters before arriving here.” He added with a shrug knowing that his schooling was obviously on hold for a bit. “What about you?”

“I studied Library Sciences... graduated about two years ago now. I was thinking about going back to get my Masters, but now I guess... I don’t know if that’s going to happen,” he said, rubbing the back of his neck.

“Oh, it definitely won’t. Not the way I would speak of it,” she smiled at him, “Though I’m pretty sure anyone would find your demeanor quite adorable.” She nodded in a sense of understanding, hating the thought of not having a yard to be out in. “Such as pollen type allergies or other things?” she asked, “I enjoyed the softball team I was a part of, so I’m always curious. I joined even though I didn’t have many friends.”

He ducked his head slightly, pale cheeks colored pink with both pleasure at her praise and embarrassment. “I don’t know about that. Most people back home just thought I was weird,” Tadeo admitted. “Pollen, yes, but there’s also a pretty bad peanut allergy I have to watch out for. And, you know, general New York smog, though that’s not something to worry about here.” His head tilted curiously. “I know I just met you, but you don’t seem like the kind of person who has trouble making friends.”
