Is it controversial to say I'm kind of over pathetic sopping wet cat Timothy? I want more of him being kind of callous and also kind of a dick. like ..no hes not inherently a shitty person (clearly), but he's also a grown ass man with dick and balls who has a lot of (proverbial) blood on his hands .... yes, he's a coward through and through but I am sick of seeing the way he's coddled about it. idk I love him but I am first and foremost intensely autistic about him like to an almost detrimental level. claptrap is such a clusterfuck of a character like what do you mean he's gone into other dimensions. what do you mean he went inside his own head. what do you mean that he blew up a stadium full of people by complete accident and burnt down a church (also by complete accident). he shares a voice actor with both joey drew AND okuyasu. he's canonically 3 feet tall. a robot minion before the minions were even a concept. he plays poker with brock and sam and max and ash williams and glados who he also dated for a brief moment of time. he canonically lead a revolution because he was sick of seeing his brethren be mistreated. he hung out with pickle and tried to comfort him about his parents. this stupid little wedge on a wheel is full of wonder and joy and you hated him for it.

when i say timothy is so me, im referring to the fact that he (now) shares DNA with someone that is regarded as a genuinely horrible person, and feels as though in moments he'll turn into them because of it and the lines between him and that person will cease to exist :)

(the scale of how bad the person is differs in his/my case but.... real recognises real and i'm scared of the person i am :> ).

okay i'm gonna ramble for a bit because i've been thinking about it for a while:

one of my other interests is philosophy, and one question that's plagued me is: do the ends justify the means (is a desired result so good or important that any method, even a morally bad one, may be used to achieve it) and every time i play borderlands I always ask myself this for each mission or for parts of the story.

for example: in the case of what jack is trying to accomplish, his ends justify his means. there really is no explanation for this one, since he's already willing to do morally reprehensible things (abuse the power of his own daughter for starters) to get to his means, even though he dies (this is one of my favourite things to think about, especially when thinking about borderlands presequel; since the vault held knowledge and allowed him to see into the future. i like to think he knew he was going to die, but with everything that was accomplished beforehand and how power hungry he is, he's willing to continue (i know he actually wouldn't thought). also, i'm by no means a jack-apologist. i just find the concept of his character very interesting).

another one of my favourites to think about: does stopping the broadcast of propaganda (the ends) justify killing hunter hellquest (the means)? I don't think so, since it doesn't really stop the already circulated propaganda, nor does it change the minds of the people who already fell for said propaganda. in fact, killing him might empower those who believe it since it could be seen as "killing the truth".

the story and its implications are already so vast, sprinkling some philosophical thought.... yeah :)

timothy will always have a special place in my heart because the only reason he became jack's body double is to get money to pay off his student debt.

don't we love coming to terms with how pervasive capitalism is to the point we will do anything to get enough money to not be indebted???? really parallels the fact that it's a pay-to-live system that will entangle you any way it can. anyways, timothy is so silly :>

i think this is funny: but relating to tannis and claptrap (and telling my psychiatrist about them) is how i got diagnosed with autism (and ocd + adhd).
