I had so much fun in the rain at the botanical gardens
Excuse the purple mood lighting, I have the grow lights on the weird colour setting to help supplement the natural light they get in this window.
New Thai constellation leaf inbound
Way overdue for new soil and a removal of all spent lower leaves.
There’s at least four new teeny tiny pups below the larger established pup.
Should’ve taken better care of it in the last little while but whatever, it has been refreshed now as has its sibling (not pictured because I was too lazy)
This was the scraggliest nearly dead plant when I brought it home, now it’s trying to reproduce while also continuing to grow out of control upwards.
Self watering pot for the win.
Two more growth points
I also bought a second much bigger one that has at least five growth points in the pot.

The second largest pitcher has developed enough that it is starting to open at the mouth.
This is the same pitcher three weeks ago:
Oh ok go off girl.

Acquisitions and mergers day continues
Although I think a branch of something random was merged prior to acquisition (and only noticed after acquisition).
I was apparently incorrect it’s just a mutated branch of whatever sort it is.

Combination day (propagations from a pair of three stemmed parent plants).
A haircut before it comes inside from a solid five months outside.
Where am I going to put it inside? 😬
I fed it a beetle I managed to nab and keep alive with some really long tweezers I have kicking around.
What a cool thing to have developed under my supervision.
Three years later:
I just realized there’s an entirely new arm off the base (third in from the right on the first most recent picture) while trying to get my bearings for which side was which in the previous years pictures.
Not bad for a grocery store cactus.
🌵
Three years later:
I had this full last year, and then a bunch of them had mealy bugs and I was like you know what I cannot be bothered so all but three died.
Could’ve saved them, didn’t have a grow light for them and couldn’t decide what I was doing with my life, whatever.
I started collecting Hoyas again and putting them elsewhere while I thought about the grow light situation. Finally said screw it, looked on Marketplace and found this light for 10$. Once I get a grow bulb and a timer it should be the solution I need.
Now I have to decide what other three Hoyas are going into this and whether or not I want to start expanding the wall with the other planter like this that I bought way back when I had a dream.
