The phone rings at 3 p.m. on a Monday afternoon. I respond. "Hello, I'd like to return some crackers," the lady said. "Certainly, I replied, may I enquire as to what's wrong?" she replied, "they're out of date." The lady then describes how she purchased them last week and that the expiration date was in 2001.
