Happy to start the year with a very first illustration of this girl! For the ones who don't know, Diana is my favourite character ever, since I was a kid (and its been a long time ago). I grew up watching the Justice League Unlimited series and she was AND still being such an valuable inspiration for me, here in real world!

I feel that I didn't gave enough love and attention she deserves lately, but made me enjoy (more) my creation process in this piece 🤩

I see a lot of korrasami pictures in which Asami is portrayed as a business woman or mechanic. But what is Korra doing, when she is not saving the world? Or what is any Avatar doing in their freetime?

Do they have jobs? Do they travel around meeting world leaders?

I kinda assume the avatar is basically a lifetime world diplomat. They have to get involved with politics, resolve squabbles, etc. Basically the most stressful job in the universe. 8D

I've said it before and I'll say it again Legend of Korra was a really good show and im disappointed it gets so much hate just because people wanted a second atla. There's never going to be a second atla that shit only happens once. But Korra was really good and I want the creators to know that. The world building was awesome. The way they changed bending yet kept the traditional while showing the advantages of knowing and using both was awesome. They explored what it really meant to be the Avatar and how non-benders exist in a bending world. How they brought tech and modernisation into the world and how they handled the fire nation post-war and the tension within the Earth kingdom. IT WAS A GOOD SHOW. and Korra did not master the elements as a toddler she barely manipulated three of them and was shown struggling with bending long after Aang completely mastered them and she sucked ass when it came to the spiritual side, which the show LITERALLY told us her weaknesses that's your internalized misogyny talking and anyone who continues to say that WILL get throat punched by me stop being a fucking idiot "Mary Sue" my ass the girl spent every season getting her ass kicked and losing her temper when she constantly struggled what the FUCK are you on about

I’m glad they didn’t tried a second AtlA and gave Korra her own story and world to live in. With Korra they went on and I respect Bryke for that.

So my last post got me thinking - why does Dick always keep Conner out of the big secret plans?

Conners been there since the very beginning - longer than M’gann and longer than Artemis - yet he’s the one who’s been kept in the dark for both seasons 2 & 3 - and I can’t decide why.

Part of me wonders if it’s just because Conner, like superman, doesn’t like keeping secrets from people and would either refuse to be involved or push for a different plan to be made which doesn’t mess with people’s emotions. (This is probably the most likely case.)

But then a small part of me is also thinking - does Dick not fully trust Conner? Could Conners being a Cadmus clone still weigh on his mind - maybe without him actually realising? After all, Dick did trust Roy (Will) for three years before finding out that he was actually a Cadmus clone who was controlled by the Light - that revelation must have shaken him up a bit - perhaps made it harder for him to totally trust people around him. Maybe his bat-trained vigilant mind can never be complete sure that the Light won’t find a way of reestablishing a connection with their ‘creations’ - so he ensures the hidden plans are completely out of their reach by not telling anyone who could divulge the information without knowing. (In my head this explanation wasn’t so long and rambley - but I think my point is there.) He’s still friends with them and trust them as heroes/teammates but just not with the super secret need to know stuff - just in case.

In truth it probably isn’t as deep as that second point goes - but our dear Boy Wonder has grown up from a young age in an environment which requires vigilance and strategy for survival - and we’ve seen him grow accustom to keeping secrets - so maybe he just can’t help it. Maybe secrets are the only way he can feel completely in control in a universe where he can’t control everything and therefore, at the very least, keep him safe from betrayal.

So this is way longer than I’d intended it to be but I’d be interested to hear anyone else’s thoughts on the matter. (If there are any?🤷‍♀️)

Connor doesn’t like secrets, which is also a result of the incident between M’gann and Kaldur. Dick kept a secret from the team and that endangered the life of his friends.

There is a scene, after M’gann was captured, in which Connor confronted Dick how dangerous these conspiracies are. I think because of that scene Dick didn’t even try to involve him, but not because of a lack of trust.

I’ve read The Rise of Kyoshi by F. C. Yee and really enjoyed the story, the characters and the world building. It is far more realistic than I expected and I think it is a great addition to the Avatar universe.
