I’m so disgusted and disappointed after hearing the stories of the girls accusing Borns of manipulating them into sending nudes and performing sexual acts. I used to love him and his music and sing his praises from dawn till dusk but I have no sympathy for him and what he has done. He writes about women like he worships them and then treats them like shit, and I honestly can never understand how someone could treat someone the way he has and feel no remorse. It makes me so angry to think of how often this happens and how the careers of these men have gone untarnished after allegations like this arise; and people are so quick to defend him and to dismiss and undermine the women who were brave enough to come forward and share their stories. I’m aware of the ways in which our culture is shifting to do better when it comes to dealing with sexual violence, but I’m still so sickened by the rate at which this continues to happen. People in positions of power who take advantage of women deserve to have their power taken away. That’s not a controversial statement! Anyway I’m sad that I won’t be listening to Borns ever again because I did love his music. His whole vibe was something I garnered a lot of inspiration from, and I always felt like our voices would have paired well in a duet. His loss I guess! So I’m gonna leave with the inspiration I took from his art and learn to emulate it in my own way, and I’m gonna leave it at that
