There’s this obligatory suspicion she has when a man offers a favor, sympathy, his general presence, an absent-minded glance in her direction.... any remote form of attention, really. On the flipside, a side she tries her damnedest to ignore, there’s a kind of kinship among Arkhamites. After suffering THE BAT’S BRUTALITY, the joker’s unsought company, and Bolton’s abuse alongside each other, year after year, there’s an inescapable understanding of each other. Ivy doesn’t want this bond, doesn’t embrace it, but when she’s spent so long with a certain jester who swears by it, Ivy can’t smother it with the same ease.
It wasn’t hard to imagine the imps who dunked Jonathan’s pre-pubescent head into the boys’ room toilet growing up to be the pigs who instigated Ivy. He was probably doing that thing Harley does... What's it called? Ah, right: “BASIC HUMAN EMPATHY.” It’s still a foreign gesture to her, but not taken for granted. Not entirely.
She’d give him a chance. But the only real judge of human character was by how they handled plants.

Her eyes drifted to the watering can and spray bottle beside mutant orchids. These were her children-- sweet as citrus and twice as charming, but they did have a little quirk of poisoning any untreated humans who breathed in their spores. And Crane, for all of his immunity against his own toxin, might still be vulnerable.

Honestly even when Poison Ivy is a villain she’s still a hero. She has literally never done anything wrong. i mean she kills a lot of men and brainwashes her friends and tries to wipe out the human race sometimes but that doesn’t count.

She said you release pheromones.” It’s not that he’s kind of extremely amazingly interested in someone else also being able to do what he does, but he might want to suddenly know everything about her. Like- can she affect him? Can he affect her? Are they both immune? Does she like Italian? What star sign is she? “Like you can mind control, if you will.”
He wonders– is she as awful as he’s supposed to be?
There’s an immediate understanding that this man is special. Not because he radiates almighty power, but because she has never hated someone so passionately within ten seconds of interaction. And, Pamela being the mistress of misanthropy, that’s quite a feat.
He dresses like the Joker; interrogates her like Gotham’s men in uniform; looks at her like Woodrue. And Harley has apparently taken to him-- the same Harley who thinks Jonathan Crane is a good Christian role model and plays lapdog to an attention-starved clown. She’s always been a good judge of BAD CHARACTER.

Blog Revamp Plans.
Using the word “revamp” might be a little overdramatic. But I’m changing a lot of my policies and might be redoing my bio/verses/etc. I’m still a little wishy-washy on all of these decisions so if you guys wouldn’t mind giving me some feedback, I could certainly use it!
On Exclusives/Mains: 🌷; I’m going to delete the line in my rules that says something along the lines of “I want to follow every Harley Quinn on the internet.” Not because it’s untrue, but because I can’t keep up with you all. (explanation here.) I’m becoming way more selective. I’m not online often enough to really develop relationships with too many versions of the same character. So I want to avoid following more than four blogs for the same character (5 at the VERY maximum) and try not to follow more than 1 incarnation of each character. I think the only exception is I follow two Margot/SS Harleys, but she attracts to many outstanding writers it’s seriously so hard to narrow down my blogroll. 🌷; If I’m following you, you are unofficially one of my mains. If anyone would like to make it official, or discuss exclusivity, feel free to slide into my DMs!
On Duplicates: 🌷; I am so tired of being too self-conscious to befriend people who share my love for this miraculous character, so I’m REMOVING my No Multiples rule. Let’s all get together and make a temple for our Plant Goddess. :’)
On Selectivity/Mutuals Only: 🌷; I love too many followers to miss opportunities to write with them, so I think I’m going to stop writing exclusively with mutuals. Anyone can send in memes, reply to opens, like my starter calls, the whole 9 yards. People I’m following will have priority but I will get to everyone as soon as I have the muse for it!
On my Mainverse: 🌷; In light of so many more Nolan RPers showing up in the community, I’m considering turning my Nolanverse AU into my main verse. It might help me feel less compelled to compare myself to other Ivy writers if I’m more AU. I would still all of the same verses. Honestly, nothing would really change most of my threads wound up being Nolanverse anyway. But I would still appreciate feedback on this decision, if anyone is feeling generous enough to offer some!
On AU stuff: 🌷; I am going to set up a Bombshells verse soon! 🌷; Without even seeing the new season of Gotham I’m already going to announce that my Ivy Pepper verse will be CANON-DIVERGENT as of the season 2 finale. Because seriously fuck this.
