some extremely charming fungi i've observed recently
Sweetest little things... I believe Mycena??
This one tree we saw today was positively covered in oak galls…growths caused by wasps who use them to lay their eggs. The galls eventually fall off the tree when the mature insects emerge.

False Turkey tail I found today strolling in my backyard! The detail I captured is insane!
The beautiful oak-loving bolete mushroom! (X.dryophilus) They love living under oak trees (Q.agrifolia) and are commonly found in California oak woodlands.
Fun fact! Boletes are known for their (ecto)mycorrhizal relationships with trees, meaning these guys have a symbiotic relationship with the tree roots!
Beautiful pink shelf fungi I found, if anyone could ID :)
The most beautiful Flamulinas🍄
