AU Rundown: Assassin AU

A sum-up of all of our Karl Heisenberg/Carlos Oliveira AUs, as requested! This is the least worked-on of all the other active AUs.

Assassin AU (aka we thought of this after watching the live-action Cowboy Bebop):

Mother Miranda’s Sanctuary for Children is an orphanage in a remote part of Eastern Europe, and home to many, many happy, healthy kids who tell God every night as they’re going to sleep that she was the one who found them when they lost their parents… except that isn’t really the case.

A woman well-known and well-respected in the world of crime syndicates, Miranda kidnaps children of a very young demographic and raises them to be part of her own little circle. Karl was chosen because he showed promise as a young, brilliant prodigy, only to then be saddled with young Carlos chosen due to his natural physical aptitude. Things couldn’t get worse for the teen stuck with a little leech, until that leech is sent away for special training, leaving him alone for several years where he hadn’t spent a day without Carlos since his arrival.

But then Carlos comes back. And he’s so, so much different than he was before…

Things of note:

Listen we know this one doesn’t have a name, we haven’t thought of it yet

Nikolai appears as a member of another group and takes Carlos on his first mission, after a mishap on a job leaves Karl injured and unconscious, and leaves Carlos seeking vengeance. Feelings inevitably ensue

Decent age gap present, with Karl at least 12 years older than Carlos

while to us this is not technically inc*st, any posts relating to this one will have the blanket tag for dubious content for those who might feel differently

this is inspired by Cowboy Bebop, and a dash of Promised Neverland (just how the orphanage monitors the ‘special’ kids via tests, none of the other stuff)

AU Rundown: Bitchy 2: The Second Kingdom

Bitchy and the Beast: The Second Kingdom (magic, malice, and attempted regicide!): A sum-up of all of our Karl Heisenberg/Carlos Oliveira AUs, as requested! Now with MAGIC.

Another splinter from an original AU, Second Kingdom takes place in the world of Bitchy and the Beast and runs parallel to the OG story.

The Neglected Prince trope we love so much makes a return in Karl Heisenberg, Iron Prince of the Five Kingdoms, surviving an attempt on his life by angry, stubborn people of the Iron Kingdom… in the middle of winter. When he’s saved by a mysterious stranger in the middle of the woods whose name he starts to recall knowing in dreams, Karl vows to help rescue him from a life of solitude and undo the curse put on him by the Queen Mother herself.

When the curse is lifted, and a fluke allows Karl’s memories of Carlos to be firmly cemented into his head, the two hatch a plan to escape to keep the Iron Prince from suffering under his Mother’s thumb…

Things of note:

The Five Kingdoms align with the canonical elements of the Lords and Miranda in RE8. These include:    - The Iron Kingdom, technology-focused and source of all five Kingdom’s      power supply    - The Mermaid Kingdom, fishing/water-focused and unpleasantly damp    - The Sanguine Kingdom, trading-focused, wealth and opulence abound    - the fourth Kingdom doesn’t have it’s own name, and is the most balanced      due to the people within its walls running it; the Lady is withdrawn and      doesn’t leave her castle…    - The Central Kingdom, where the Queen Mother resides; all ceremonies take      place here, and laws must go through Miranda’s court before being officially      passed

Carlos is a magical hybrid in this AU– half-man, half-Boar –and is able to control which form he takes… some day, at least (feel free to ask for elaboration!)

Karl has a magical catalyst inside his body that boosts his innate magical ability; his siblings all have one, as well. The catalysts are composed of corpses, and Carlos’s knowledge of this was the reason he was originally cursed by Miranda

AU Rundown: B&C: High Iron Diet

A sum-up of all of our Karl Heisenberg/Carlos Oliveira AUs, as requested! VAMPIRES THIS TIME–

Blood & Chocolate: High Iron Diet (a splinter of the original Blood and Chocolate):

The same modern setting as the Normal Humans AU, but set in Washington, DC and featuring vampires this time!

Carlos Oliveira has been around vampires his entire life; being adopted and raised by a hundred year old Russian vampire means you’re pretty well-versed in the ways of the night-walking subsection of human society that’s just trying to live peacefully amongst everyone else. He works at a club for vampires… which means he’s often the target of somebody’s midnight snack. Rules at his workplace prevent that kind of thing from going down… until a very, very old vampire– back before there was even a council to make these rules –bends ‘em a little bit on the down-low…

Is it a little weird when your boyfriend is way, way older than your adopted father-vampire? Maybe. But it’s easier to forget that weirdness when said boyfriend has a hypnotic gaze and literal electricity in his fingers!

Things of note:

AT TIME OF WRITING, Carlos has been turned by Karl.

This AU follows the rules and standards that the original Blood and Chocolate AU does (ask about it if you wanna know! We have a decent amount of lore for it!)

Karl moved to the US in this AU, but all of his canon siblings are still overseas in various parts of Europe

Leon S. Kennedy makes an appearance in this AU as the Rookie Vampire Cop who is eternally 21

Jill and Chris are also in this AU, and Carlos has a good relationship with them both

Carlos has, uh…… quite the backstory… but in short was adopted and raised by Mikhail Viktor (and Nikolai, kind of. Ask about that horrible thing if you wanna)

AU Rundown: Normal Humans

A sum-up of all of our Karl Heisenberg/Carlos Oliveira AUs, as requested! This time, it’s a take on the ‘Modern’ AU!

Normal Humans (no one is a mutant in this one): Modern day New York has a lot of hustle and bustle, especially when you’re a hotshot engineer who runs his own company like Karl Heisenberg does… kinda. After taking over his dad’s company, Iron Horse, life gets a bit boring. Less hands-on and more paperwork, and nothing to look forward to… until he spots a handsome newcomer working on one of the production lines, anyway. One awkward Tinder match-up later, and the pair actually hit it off pretty swimmingly.

Dating your higher ups is generally pretty frowned-upon, but dating the CEO of the company? Whole new ball game. Carlos is definitely up to the task of being a positive presence in the man’s life, and Karl is just dying to spoil his new boyfriend rotten.

Things of note:

This AU features the worst relationship between Carlos and Jill, who are still friends, despite resentment between them that mostly comes from Carlos’s end thanks to Chris’s intervention

This AU also features the first instance of ‘Nikolai being Carlos’s shitty ex-boyfriend’

Karl is pretty well-known and is toted as one of the top ten STEM-based queers in Google searches in this universe

Decent age gap present, with Karl being 52 and Carlos being 35

At time of writing, the two have moved into Karl’s place, and something very bad is looming on the horizon for Carlos…

AU Rundown: Feed the Machine

A sum-up of all of our Karl Heisenberg/Carlos Oliveira AUs, as requested! I’m gonna post these all separately so they don’t turn into an essay under a read-more– I’ll make one last post once they’re all up that links to all of them individually. Also, special mention goes to:

the Heisenveira splinter of our Wonderland AU– exists, but is massively underdeveloped at the moment compared to the original AU

Anti-Viral, which is not a Heisenveira AU but still involves Carlos!

Feed the Machine (the AU that started it all): In 2018, Corporal Carlos Oliveira– a member of the BSAA in this timeline, hired on pre-RE5 – is sent to do some recon in a remote part of Romania while the main members are cleaning up after the disaster in Dulvey, Louisiana. Circumstances get dicey and lead to his capture at the hands of Lord Karl Heisenberg, ordered to conduct an experiment: break the intruder’s mind and produce a loyal, competent strongman for Miranda’s flock. Easy.

But nothing’s ever that easy, is it? Not when Karl saves Carlos’ life and hides him away after the experiment is deemed a failure; not when feelings develop and the two of them bond over connections neither of them expected.

Not when Carlos is eventually inducted into the ‘family’ as the right hand of House Heisenberg. The loyal Wolf, who keeps a watchful eye on the village and keeps it safe from anyone who would disturb his new home…

Things of note:

Carlos has a large scar on his face that goes from his jawline to just under his eye. Received it during his first attempt to work on the Sturm

With Carlos’ intervention, the siblings (specifically Alcina and Karl) get along in this AU

Leonardo Lupu– father of Elena, and the wounded man you run into in RE8 –was beaten half to death and offered to Mother Miranda by Carlos when it was revealed that he was beating/r*ping his daughter after the loss of his wife (BASED ON SPECULATION). Elena now serves as Donna’s live-in handmaiden

Karl’s powers are being further expanded upon, and his ‘final form’ will change entirely (we don’t like it so we’re giving him a new one)

Carlos will be receiving a Cadou parasite eventually, but currently still has the title of ‘Lord’ without one

The Dimitrescu girls adore their new uncle and Carlos and Karl are an active part of their lives, now, because it’s adorable

Karl tore down part of his father’s factory in an incident that involved him partially transforming; it has since been rebuilt and serves as an apartment of sorts for him and Carlos

Karl's jaw aches from tensing it for so long. Shaking his head with a little scoff. "... You know, the usual shit," he grumbles lowly.

Miranda's lectures usually start with him being such a prodigy. Perhaps even perfect. Words he doesn't hear coming out of her mouth at any other moment in time, only when he's fucked up sometime along the way.

"Usual shit, like what?" Carlos says a little bit more insistently, starting to light a cigarette.

Karl heaves a sigh and crosses his arms over his chest. "'Heisenberg,'" he drawls, rolling his eyes, "'I truly believed that you would be better than this..!'"

The scoff that comes out Karl's mouth after is just as dismissive as Miranda was to him. "It was a blown fuse! A couple days worth of experiments. It didn't kill anyone."

Carlos holds out an already-lit cigarette for him, looking at him with a crease of worry on his brow. "Here."

Karl doesn't hesitate to take it from Carlos, only pausing to ash the thing and think of something witty-- ah, yes, "And they tell me I'm a bad influence on you," he says with a little smirk, taking a drag.

The comment makes Carlos smile a bit. "Aren't you?"

"Oh, I am," he purrs, "But you definitely start it~."

The doctor had warned him years ago that the flare-ups from his surgery, and the subsequent nerve pain, would be ‘sudden, but not as bad as you think’. Yeah, he’d like to ‘not as bad’ that fucker with a sharp stick in the eye, not that bad. This one had him limping to the couch like a wounded animal, hissing and grunting and trying not to embarrass himself in front of--

“Just tell me what you need, I’ll do it.” Karl huffs from his kneeling position on the floor, rolling up the leg of the joggers that Carlos had thrown on post-shower and going at the spots just under his knee with his hands, rolling the tissues there with his thumbs. It felt… weird, but they’d read that massages and shit like that helped with nerve pain.

“Jus’ gotta wait it out, then I’ll…” Carlos groans, which probably doesn’t make him sound any more convincing as he swallows around a painful lump in his throat, “I’ll go out and get somethin’, some numbing shit--”

“Like hell you will.” comes the gruff protest, sharp green eyes peering out from behind a curtain of silver hair that had fallen into his face before Karl cranes his head. “Whatever it is, I can get it. You’re not goin’ anywhere with your leg actin’ up like that. Doctor’s orders.”

A snort, “you’re an engineer--”

“--and you’ve got enough metal in your leg to call this engineering! Now, shut up and relax, alright? Daddy’s got’cha.”

Karl's pacing is stopped abruptly with Carlos's arms wrapping around his chest and pulling him close. Two forearms tightening around his middle, a nose burying itself into Karl's neck, not muttering even a word as Karl finally comes to a halt.

He's been pacing for hours; the lightning storms coming through the valley just put him at edge for weeks, if not months, and he's unable to even sit still for more than an hour before it feels like his skull is going to come apart at the seams with how much his thoughts are racing, endless amounts of energy being generated--

Karl's shoulders slump slightly as he puts his hand on Carlos's wrist and lets out a laugh that could be easily be mistaken for a cough.

"Don't act cool, I know you like hugs," comes Carlos's sleep-rough voice, snuggling in ever-closer, rubbing his beard along the back of Karl's neck as he does so.

The bristly hairs on his skin would usually send him shivering, but instead of riling him up, Karl's shoulders relax slowly, letting out a breath he didn't know he was holding. The stimulation, something to fucking focus on... It's like every electron in the room goes deathly still as Karl's mind trains on the feeling of Carlos so close--

"Whoa," Carlos chuckles, and slides his hands down to Karl's waist to hold him still, peeking around and from beneath his fringe at the older man. "Feel good or somethin'?"

... grumbling, Karl turns around and gently tugs at Carlos's ear, "Shut up, just do that again."

Carlos's eyebrow goes up, expectantly.

"... Please."

Carlos groans softly into his pillow, head pounding. Even Karl's sweet words don't get rid of this ache right behind his eyes, like his brain is being scrambled. He hasn't even been drinking, recently..!

"That good, hm?" Karl says. He has a cup of coffee, sweetened to all hell, in one hand, and another for Carlos in the other; he sits on the side of the bed and smiles down at Carlos's prone form, still snuggled beneath the blankets. "Lil 'Los keeping you company at least?"

The stuffed doll made by Donna in Carlos's wolf-likeness, with the metal wolf mask and the fluffy, furred coat, lies limp amongst the pillows, but Carlos does reach out to find him with a few unsuccessful gropes of the sheets before he tucks the doll up into his shoulder.

Karl set the coffee down on the one side table on Carlos's side, and he slides his hand up to Carlos's shoulder, along his skin and down to his spine. "Headache still around?"

The little grunt should say enough, but Carlos nods his head, eyes squeezed shut.

"Alright," Karl says, starting to stand. "I'll go get some painkillers for you. You stay there."
