first, my kid would not sign anything without me seeing it first. 2nd, upon seeing it i would be at the superintendant’s office the next morning. then we would speak to the teacher. black folk gotta nip it in the bud.

Dont let your children be controlled like this. I remember back when I was in school my mom always told me “if you really need to use the bathroom or attend to an emergency and the teacher won’t let you, then just leave the classroom and I’ll deal with teacher and principle”

It bears repeating, over and over, that this is a charter school. At charter schools, by design, children have far fewer rights, far fewer disability protections, and parents have far fewer avenues of recourse if teachers do something like this. 

There is no school board for most charter schools, and DEFINITELY not ones that you can vote out every few years if they let shit like this go on.

THIS IS BY DESIGN. 

This is by design to take agency away from parents and children and protections away from children, especially disabled children. This. Is. On. Purpose. 

Fight charter schools, every step of the way. Fund public schools. Pay public school teachers well.
