It’s been a million years since I’ve used tumblr. It’s also been a million years since I looked at/thought about anything True Blood related. 

10 minutes of watching some random TB stuff and all my burning, feverish, UNDYING hatred for the odious cretin that is Bill Compton just came rushing back. I think it’s better if I quit again. I am realising now that I am a much more loving and calm person when I don’t think about TB.

I JUST FINALLY WATCHED SOME CLIPS FROM SEASON 7 (2 years later.. whoops) AND LIKE WTF? Eric and Sookie still have GREAT chemistry and it’s just totally like not even addressed like WHAT IS DIS SHIT? Their last line is ‘Goodbye’, which I guess is fitting, but still. Like couldn’t they fuck at least one more time?????? I HATE THIS STUPID SHOW SO MUCH. Eric obvs cares about her soooooooooo much and would be with her in a heart beat couldn’t they at least have some kind of a conversation because they remove each other from their lives 4ever? i think it’s so dumb that they have so much history together and it’s implied they never speak ever again!!!!!!! like what is dis shit. 

I know I am very late to express this. Apologies for bringing back any angry feelings. I suspect it’s been a while. I don’t even want to watch the full season because I know I will punch something and I have ZERO desire to see Bill/Sookie even seeing like the image preview on youtube makes me gag

What's Jeremy Corbyn done wrong, then? Apart from apparently not having the right genitals or skin colour?

I have nothing against Corbyn personally. I voted for him; I generally agree with his policies. 

Of the 650 MPs in the UK parliament, only 191 (29%) are female. 41 MPs are BME, constituting 6%. 

Corbyn is a part of a political system that systematically fails to represent women and women and men of ethnic minorities.

This is what makes me angry. I am angry about patriarchal political systems, about lack of representation, about oppressed and under-represented groups being continually denied positions of power in mainstream politics. 

When I write of my scepticism of Corbyn’s 50% women cabinet, I write knowing how women in cabinets have historically and presently been denied ‘important’ positions; Theresa May is a rare exception in that she actually holds one of these posts. The majority of the infamous ‘Blair’s babes’ were denied such chances to exercise real political power. Britain has never had a female chancellor. 

I retain my right to be sceptical of Corbyn; he has only just been elected leader; he has yet to enact on any of his promises. 

I am so used to women being continually denied power that I have come to expect it, hence why I will not be surprised if this 50/50 cabinet fails to materialise.

5/9 Labour leadership candidates were female. We end up with 2 white men. Again.

I am beyond tired of the lack of female and BME political leadership in this country. 

Corbyn claims he will host a 50% women cabinet; what roles will those women take? Secretary of State, Chancellor, Home Secretary? Or will they be pushed into redundant roles, deemed too junior for matters of public importance, their clothing choices being the only decisions worthy of public scrutiny. 

I want my representation.
