@bradleyfck
[Violet noticed the anger and pain behind the other girl’s eyes as she spoke, and was ready to ignore it, but a part of her felt protective of the girl. Like she needed to help.] Wait- Bradley. You don’t look okay.
[Her green eyes stayed trained on the ground, like it was suddenly the most interesting thing on the planet. She couldn't bare to meet the eyes of anyone in that hallway. They'd all very clearly heard the quiet argument and she wanted nothing to do with their judgmental looks. Bradley knew if one person glanced at her the wrong way right now, she wouldn't be able to stop herself from starting a fight. When she heard Violet's voice again, she quickly put a stop to her words.] Not here. [she said sternly] Not around a bunch of people.
[Tyler just happened to be walking by when he saw the girl. He didn’t know her, but then again he didn’t really know many people yet. By the look on her face he could tell she was upset so he took the chance of speaking to her.] I- uh, is something wrong?
Listen - [Bradley turned around, fully prepared to tell whoever it was to fuck off, but then the boy's brightly colored hair caught her eye and she felt stunned momentarily. "That was unexpected," she thought to herself as she furrowed her brows.] I'm fine, pixie-stick. [she spoke finally. pleasantly surprised at how steady her voice came out.]
But… isn’t it what happens all the time? I mean… uh… there’s always something that happens… suddenly and… I… I have. Probably more times than I should’ve.
I almost wish I had no clue what was going on out there. [Bradley said, mostly to herself, since Sienna had no clue what she was rambling around.] That motherfucker should've known better than to give me information like that when I can't do anything about it. [she scoffed, shaking her head in anger.] I - I lost someone that I cared a lot about today. [she finally explained and then clamped her mouth shut before more could come out.]
I d-don’t exactly know what’s bothering you, but… you should try t-talking, you know? Get this off your chest, and… it’ll seem somewhat… different…
[Bradley fell silent again. The weight of the sadness wasn't one she could ignore, as hard as she tried to tell herself that it was just how the drug world was. People get thrust into situations they have no control over. She finally lifted her gaze to Sienna.] Have you ever gotten news that seems....too sudden to be real? Like there's no way it could've actually happened?
I… I w-wasn’t really gonna do anything until my brother called me and said that therapists are giving me shit for skipping sessions, and I-uh… I had to go and have a serious chat with Wynn. So, my day has been quite uneventful so far, I think…
[She tried her damnedest to focus on what Sienna was saying, but thoughts of Henry kept pushed their way to the front of her mind. Bradley had been there to witness him getting his first gun and she'd seen how his face had lit up because that meant Alex trusted you. Wanted you safe. She'd taught the boy how to shoot, how to aim, everything. And now she was really wishing she hadn't. Bradley nodded, speaking in a choked up tone of voice.] Well, at least you've got a brother who gives a shit about your recovery. I suppose you just have to look at it that way.
Whoever said tea was a better alternative to coffee is seriously mistaken.
I couldn't agree more. Tea just tastes like warm flavored water. What is so enticing about that?
Everything okay?
[Bradley turned to look at the voice that had spoken up behind her with a scowl on her face. The venomous feeling of needing revenge was unfurling in her chest. She was quiet for a moment and then she smiled with false sweetness.] Sure is, sweetheart. [her face fell again quickly as she began to walk away.]
B-but… I don’t know what to do… Like, I have never been good at distracting people, so…
Christ, it's not that fucking difficult. Just - just talk about random shit! What did you do today?
[This sudden reaction definitely caught the girl off guard, her voice shaking and stuttering a little.] I-I’m sorry… I just w-wanted to make sure you’re alright.
[Bradley had seen enough things in her short life to completely rob her of empathy. Seeing people express emotions so vulnerably just annoyed the brunette at this point. Closing her eyes for a moment, Bradley inhaled deeply.] That's really cute of you, Sienna, but I don't need to be coddled. So, you either keep your mouth shut and distract me. Or you get out of my way.
I know that listening to other people’s conversations is not polite and everything, but… are you okay?
You're right. It's actually extremely fucking rude. [Bradley spat, despite the angry tears that had begun to prick the corners of her eyes. Alex had pounded it into her head that crying about business was stupid and not worth it, but Henry was only fourteen years old. A naive kid looking for a home like the rest of them had been.]
As many as you please.
Well, well well. How generous. I think one will do for now, thanks.
Alex? Alex, slow down. What do you mean Henry got set up? Why the hell was he even on a mission?! [in a hushed voice] You fucking idiot, I swear to God, if he's dead...[feels a guard tapping her shoulder to signal that she needs to hang up. Bits the inside of her cheek as she nods.] I gotta go, but you better make sure that kid survives. Understand? [the last thing she hears Alex say is that it's too late before the guard hangs up the phone and Bradley feels like the wind just got knocked out of her.]
You got another one of those?
