Are you moving to Twitter or Reddit?
Youâd think people following captions, a medium which depends in no small part on reading, would be able to read, but I keep getting asked questions like this, even though Iâve said several times, no⌠Iâm not moving to Twitter, or Reddit, or bdsmlr, or anywhere else, at least for the forseeable future. Maybe someday, but itâs not in my plans.

1) He's a he. I don't know how so many of you keep making that mistake. Just because the text is sometimes from a woman's perspective doesn't mean a woman wrote it.

Right now I have no plans in that direction. Iâve had a few people suggest places, but like I said, if I am going to I want a place that isnât just a porn site and has reasonably high adoption rates. Iâve had a few suggested but so far, for all of them, Iâve only heard them from the porn side of my life, and not heard of them at all from the non-porn side (who are also largely freaking out about the death of tumblr), which suggests to me that itâs only some of the porn tumblrs heading there, which doesnât interest me. Maybe thatâll change. If it does, maybe Iâll show up there. Iâm in no rush. If, right this second, there was a new site that everybody moved to, Iâd probably be too worn out from this last Farewell Tour of activity to be making new captions for a while anyway, so whether Iâm quiet because Iâm not there or quiet because Iâm not producing isnât much difference.
To answer some other questions Iâve got a few times:
How about Twitter?: Maybe, but I donât have one right now (I mean, not one that I can use for porn). If I can set up an account without them demanding phone verification, maybe, but the last time I tried to create one for temporary purposes they did and Iâm just not going to bother with that.Â
Could you download your content and Dropbox it for us?If there was an easy way to do that, sure. Iâve tried Tumblrâs export function but itâs still processing, two days later (I imagine theyâre getting loads of people doing that right now so maybe thatâs keeping things slow). I could zip up individual captions in a zip file but right now theyâre spread out among various directories, some mixed in with more personal stuff, so gathering them that way will have to wait until I have some free time and a desire for a mind-numbing chore. Other suggestions welcome.Â
