Don Calfa - best known for playing Ernie in The Return of the Living Dead - has passed away. He was 76, just days shy of his 77th birthday on December 3.

The character actor’s other notable credits include Weekend at Bernie’s, Chopper Chicks in Zombietown, Necronomicon, Progeny, Bugsy, and Doctor Dolittle.

Calfa was a regular on the horror convention circuit, often appearing alongside his The Return of the Living Dead costars and eager to meet fans.
