āChristopher Nolan does do a good job with directing beautiful looking, cerebral films. His use of sound editing in this film, leaving breaths or rests in the sound verged on symphonic composure.ā
āFor a three hour movie about a bomb, it shouldnāt be too hard to pass the Bechdel test but somehow Nolan fails to pass it.ā
Iām dropping opinion bombs over on my Letterboxd! Go read more of my thoughts on Oppenheimer below.

Definitely a Gerwig/Baumbach script. A little wordy at times but constantly clever.Ā All the acting was perfect for a bunch of dolls. They h
āAm I doing him right?ā
I canāt stop thinking about this part of the movie. I feel like every day I get to the end of the day and worry that I wasnāt a good enough dad or husband. āDo I keep doing it? ⦠Without knowing anything? ⦠I still donāt understand the play.ā

My review here. Spoiler: I love it.
āJust keep telling the story.ā ASTEROID CITY (2023, Wes Anderson)
Metaphor for what?
Am I doing him right?
I still donāt understand the play.
I would question whether it even is a plot.
Asteroid City is a mess. A beautiful symmetric colorful mess. Like life. There are the typical friends and players that Wes Anderson employs and old friends from past films that play parts in the show. The show makes me wonder if Anderson is dying and trying to process that or if he is processing the loss or death of someone else. Is the movie a critique of governments? Or a think piece on the chaos of life and the complexities of love and loss? Iām still trying to process what it is and I donāt know. Iām okay with that.
The premise of the movie made me think this was mostly going to be a comedy. That made me want to watch it, and Iām glad it wasnāt. Yes, it
This is one for you to enjoy!
Fair, balanced look at the history of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day saints through the story of their first prophet. It shares some of the stories church members arenāt taught at church or in their seminary classes. Grateful that Van Sciver shared this part of his faith journey and processing what he believes with us. In interviews he says he wrote this book so he could become the characters, feel what they felt, and through that decide if he believed the Church was true. I am going through my own faith journey and trying to decide where I belong. This book helped me a bit to feel and see what those early church members experienced and what led them to do what they did.

Something that lots of people donāt know about me is that I like to collect pins. I like them because there are lots of places you can get them, they are on the cheaper side when it comes to souvenirs and they donāt take up much space. Whatās something you like to collect?
Happy #bannedbooksweek and #nationalcomicbookday! I would have had some more comics on the stack, but I have them loaned out to family and friends.
I killed it with the pizza bread game last night.
Shealeigh got me a book stamp for Christmas. Itās the best.
