Chocolate package that says "imported from belgium", does cacao grow in belgium? No? Where does it grow? Congo, Ivory Coast, and Ghana? Brazil, Venezuela, and Peru? So why doesn't the package say imported from those places instead? Oh it's because all the peocessing is done in the imperial core and then they prevent those countries from being able to domestically process and export instead only allowing them to export raw materials and then forcing them to import the very products made from their exports except now it's marked up thousands of times.
Venezuela still needs help after the 7.2 and 7.5 earthquakes that hit the country as too many people have lost everything.
The regime has made everything even more difficult, not only NOT helping the people stuck under the rubble, but ordering collection centers to close down and they have even been kidnapping people speaking out, so it's very important that if you're going to donate, do so to organizations that have zero ties to the government.
The Venezuelan Red Cross has been controlled by the government for years so any money donated to them will never reach the people that need it. Please DO NOT donate there.
Here are two great resources I personally trust.
Suma tu donación y ayuda a quienes más lo necesitan.
Yummy is a delivery and transportation service (like Uber) and their CEO has been very transparent on social media with where all the money is going, and you can now check that on the website itself. They've been also giving free rides to people that need to go to the hospital or to gathering centers so their work has been truly great.
You can donate as little or as much as you'd like in pretty much any currency and your donation will be matched by a bunch of other companies.
How do you want to help after the Venezuela earthquake? Donate money to verified organizations or give your time as a volunteer, inside or o
If instead you'd like to donate to other organizations or you would like to volunteer or bring supplies in person to your local collection center, you can check out all that info on this website. It's all divided by different focuses so check out where you feel more comfortable donating.
And if you don’t have the money to donate, just sharing any relevant information goes a long way. I'm forever grateful to everyone that has helped in any way, to all the international rescuers and to my beloved country for always being so willing to help each other 🇻🇪❤️🩹

Prints for Venezuela
I'm working with @fawnduu and @aphyray to raise funds and encourage donations to aid the people of Venezuela in the aftermath of devastating earthquakes, which were followed by flash floods. Here's how you can join:
Courtney and I designed two prints/stickers featuring wildlife symbols of Venezuela, such as the troupial, araguaney trees, and the flor de Mayo orchid. These are mini prints and die cut stickers that you can receive when you donate.
You can send proof of donation of at least $20 to printsforvenezuela at gmail, which is being managed by our friend and colleague @aphyray who will also be matching donations. The first $1000 will be matched dollar-for-dollar.
Find an organization here: donarseguro.com/en
We'll be accepting donation receipts throughout July, and we'll send out the prints and stickers at the end of the month in a plain ol envelope with a stamp. Dios bendiga a Venezuela ❤️
