When Playing A Spellcaster

Personalize your spells! Each spellcaster has something that makes a spell uniquely theirs! The arcane gestures are not always the same, and CERTAINLY the effects of the spell (visually) are not always the same! A Fireball spell cast by one mage might be a roaring bead that explodes when it hits its mark. Another caster might lob a crackling ball of blue fire that explodes in glittery flames! When a cleric of life cures someone’s wounds, perhaps their hand glows and the skin is left perfect, the way it once was, but a cleric of war’s healing closes the wound, but leaves a scar, as though it at healed naturally over time. 

Be creative, and don’t be afraid to describe what your spells look like!

AND FOR FUCKS’ SAKE, NECROMANCY SPELLS SHOULD BE PERSONALIZED.

Revivify? Raise Dead? Resurrection? These spells should be very unique as story elements. A cleric whose holy symbol is a bell? They should be heavily incorporated into the audible effects of the spell, if not the somatic components! These small touches make for more interesting characters.

And when creating undead? Why would every necromancer do the same thing? Some necromancers exhale over the corpses, breathing undeath into them. Others channel shadow into them, reanimating them. Others pull spirits from elsewhere, placing them inside the corpse.

so this ad ties in with des’ ad for the kaiju groupies and black market, but mainly this has to deal with smugglers, the kaiju culture, and maybe (????) romance down the line.

over the past couple of years, mia has carved out a name for herself, and that hasn’t been without help.  her biggest supporter? jude.  i’m thinking he’s a former k-scientist. he left of his own accord but i’m pretty strong with him being stationed in hong kong for a while before then.  anyway, after he left, he met mia and they hit it off – mia turned on the charm and convinced him to help her out.  that was back in 2015, and now they work together to operate one of the largest smuggling operations on the american seaboard.

these two are incredibly close.  they trust each other more than anyone and will be honest with each other, damn the consequences.  from the start of mia bringing in the karloff alias, the two have traded off using it, and while it’s commonly attributed to mia, they spend equal amounts of time posing as the kaiju kingpin.  being that close has side effects, though, and it’s possible that these two are going to end up being more than just business partners.

i’m pretty open with the face, though i’ve used ben dahlhaus here.  age-wise, he has to be older than 30. message me on tumblr or discord if you’re interested!

better known by her alias “karloff” (taken from the first kaiju to ever be taken down by a jaeger), mia zino is a bit of an urban legend.  her contacts in certain circles have made it possible for her to make certain kaiju artifacts vanish from quarantined areas and reemerge on the black market. as far as kaiju groupies go, however, she’s better known for her special brand of hallucinegenics made from kaiju bone powder and other materials. up until recently, mia had placed her home base in vancouver, but the flow of business has led her to take up residence in the suburbs of los angeles.
