Stubbornly she kicks off the other shoe and continues to run away before finding a nice bush that she could hide in for now. She didn’t even care about the scratches from the branches, as she wedged herself deep among the foliage and sat there with puffed out cheeks. She wasn’t going to come out no matter what he said. She refused.

Well, she might not want to come out, but that doesn’t mean he isn’t going to sit down right in front of it and wait her out. He’s got both of her shoes now, and he’s absolutely going to scold her later on when she finally comes out.

“I don’t see why you let it bother you so much. It obviously isn’t true. Since when have you even cared about that kind of stuff anyway? It’s not like you to let some obviously false, childish thing get under your skin, Kairi.”

She’s definitely trying her hardest to find a place on the island where he wouldn’t think to look for her. She doesn’t want to be found. Lips pressing in a tight line as she racks her brain, just running as far as she could away.

Unfortunately for her, he’s able to follow her footsteps, plus he knows her, and this island a bit too well. After all, he and Sora grew up here, he knew every crevice and place to hide; even after all these years he was -still- the hide and seek champion.

“Come out, you shouldn’t go running around without your shoe. What if you step on something? I’d have to bring you back to shore so it doesn’t get infected.”

“There is no good way of that…” She grumbled, brows furrowing as she stares at him for a few more seconds. Soon, not even retrieving her shoe, she turns away and starts running away from him.

“Kairi--” He called back out to her, show in hand.

Nope, he wasn’t going to chase her, but he will calmly follow where she’s gone off to with a sigh. Really, she’s heard so much worse, why is she so upset over something so obviously false?

“You just said you wouldn’t be surprised if my kisses were poisonous. Poison is a bad thing!” She takes her shoe off and throws it as hard as she can at his head.

“Alright, you got me,” he’s taking that hit to his head, arms raised, “But I meant it in a good way. Settle down, it’s not that serious Kairi.”

“FINE! IF THAT’S HOW YOU FEEL I’M NEVER, EVER, EVER KISSING YOU AGAIN!!!”

“Hey, I didn’t say it was a bad thing.”

“I wouldn’t be surprised if Kairi’s kisses were poison.. Even if she’s kissed me before, I feel like I’ve been dead before. Maybe that nullifies it.”

There’s always something that his alternate is getting into, isn’t there? Maybe he should follow the other’s lead, it’s been far too quiet on his end.

“I wouldn’t be too sure.” She squealed at the toss, clinging quickly to him. “You wouldn’t drop me.” She added quickly sticking out her tongue. “But… I think you’re cute, probably the cutest in all the worlds~”

“Don’t count on it, princess. I will drop you,” he teased, letting go of her only for a second to tease his point. “You won’t fall far enough to get hurt, so I have nothing to lose here,” he hummed, readjusting her in his arms once more.

“No. I’m the handsome one.. Sora’s the cute one. I can’t always win at everything, even if I do, he’d get mad~”

“H-hey! Things have been amazing. Nothing dangerous happening here recently. Pretty quiet. You should visit more often really.” She gave a shrug, inhaling deep to keep her composure.  “How have things been for you? Anything exciting?”

“That’s good, I was getting a little worried with how quiet it’s been.. but you can’t beat peaceful I suppose,” he hummed, head tilting slightly to one side. “I guess I could afford to take some time off to visit.. If I don’t, I’m sure Sora would start to nag me about it anyway.” He gave a small shrug.

“I’ve been the same. Nothing new on my end either,” although in comparison his life was far more dangerous. It was a small price to pay. He preferred it that way, to keep people like her safe.

A giggle escaped as she carefully wrapped her arms around him. “You’re so cute when you’re blushing.” Well so much for a normal ‘hello’ from her. But it was good to keep Riku on his toes every now and then.

“It’s like you want me to drop you,” he was teasing, mostly. Riku chuckled and picked her up a little better, having to give her a light toss in order to adjust the way she sat in his arms. “I’m not cute. I can’t take away Sora’s only quality.”

Nervous giggling and a shy wave. 

He doesn’t seem to catch on to the fact that she’s nervous at all, but he’ll approach after putting his hands in his pockets.

“Hey Olette. How have things been?”

She spies her boyfriend. She’s immediately latching onto him and giving him a big kiss.

“Hey--” He had to catch her as she latched onto him so she wouldn’t topple over, cheeks warm at the sudden kiss. “Hello to you too.”

“I… suppose you’re right…” She turned her eyes to the ground, hands folding behind her back. “I don’t know… I guess… maybe I was worried…?” She asked fingers twirling together. “That maybe you wouldn’t… actually want to be… I mean… Even if it meant something to both of us, you might say something about how you don’t deserve it or some nonsense…”

“Well.. You’d be right. I feel like I don’t deserve it.. But that doesn’t mean I would reject your feelings, or my own. I care for you, just as much as the two of us care about Sora, so if you.. want to make time for me to be included, I have no objections,” he hummed, studying her carefully.

“..We could make it work, if you want that.”
