Institution Univers
press release
I would like to contniue with my story but thought I should post this first as we are already 11 months into this project. Press release on 8/23/2011 is as follows:
Local Bakery Owners To Donate Bakery To Haiti
After visiting with a group from Haiti and then visiting Northeast Haiti themselves Rick and Debbi have a plan that will help meet the needs for the community of Ouanaminthe, Haiti. Ouanaminthe is a border town of about 120,000 with 90% unemployment. The bakery will be built on the property of Institution Univers the local school of 2100 students. The bakery will supply whole wheat bread for a new breakfast program as well as train baking and nutrition as part of a new vo-ed program started this year. They would like to offer the community the joy and satisfaction that comes with giving to others.
Donations can be sent to: Christ Community Chapel

Here we go. I started this project in Oct. 2010 or should I say God started. Not sure the exact date but mid month and leaves were coming down at a pretty fast pace here in Northeast Ohio. As I was raking God convicted me to do something so I agreed. I have always had a heart for world hunger and felt called to step up and take a stand. I didn't know what it looked like but God wanted me to build a bakery in a 3rd world country. As soon as I figure this Blog thing out I'll be keeping you up on the whole story. In the meantime please be praying for us and the people of Haiti.
