Something New
This brief demanded a high degree of photographic finish and quality, we were to research product shots and advertising photographers. I chose to research the alcoholic drinks industry.
This is my final image for the product Daffy’s Gin, I wanted to achieve a crisp white backdrop and ensure the edges of the bottle were visible and not blown out, I think I have managed to achieve this fairly well. The reflection can easily be taken out in Photoshop to create a completely plain catalogue style image.
I decided while I was in the studio to have a play about with a more interesting set up using the Daffy’s Gin, some garnish and a matching gin glass. I am really pleased with the outcome of this, I used a wooden style wallpaper as the backdrop and black reflective perspex as the base/foreground. I love that this shot looks as though it has been taken on location in a bar possibly. I used single soft box at 45 degrees to light this.
