I doubt this tape will make it through the new year–it has been a constant companion through the year, and I can already hear the weary hiss and moan of an overplayed tape complaining at me. But alas, music is meant to be listened to–especially when it is as incredible as this. One of the most profound musical experiences I have had. JMC combines all of the things I love in ambient music: an unplaceable, but gnawing sense of longing; a yearning for both the absent past and a future that may never come; and an acceptance of the present, which is really the only mystery this world has to offer.
