As Trudeau himself grappled with those long 21 seconds of silence, I too have felt long & awkward gaps of time pass over the course of current events. Not only feeling at odds with social media in general, but struggling with even picking up my phone as current coverage carries so much weight. My understanding of systemic racism was weak because I didn’t/don’t have all the facts. Those thoughts were met with a quell of uncertainly on my end as I don’t live this day-to-day, it’s peripheral at best for me and I acknowledge that. Hopefully this leads to substantive change and foundational restructuring. I support these organizations that sustain continual pressure.
