10 years ago, we lost Brett Somers, several months after we lost Charles Nelson Reilly. But they are not and will never be forgotten. We here remember them every day, not just birthdays and memorial days. Nevertheless, today Fannie Flagg’s tribute is still as poignant as ever.

In honor of Brett Somers on her birthday, we present this amazing episode that GSN aired in her memory in 2007. And with good reason. Brett is definitely Brett is definitely in the spotlight (this is the one with the “Brett goes streaking” question you may remember from a standalone clip years back), and there is a lot of love in this episode, as Charles helps her out in the Super Match, she and Charles give each other kisses, and she steps up her rivalry with Richard by kissing a female contestant (!?).

For Valentine’s Day, we present to you, the full episode of “Love, American Style” featuring segments with Brett and Charles respectively (alas, not together). This one is in steadier quality and has the whole first segment with Brett and Jack Klugman. One thing to note is that these segments were not originally in the same episode, so whoever re-edited the shows for syndication knew what they were doing. ;)
