Happy Easter!
I ring in this Easter with De Molen's Kopi Loewak Imperial Stout, which is made even more special by the fact that it was bottled exactly 2 years ago today!
An exceptional beer from a brewery that rarely does anything less. Happy Easter to you all, I think you deserve a delicious beer.
Cheers!
The two are the sixth generation of the Oland dynasty to head the family owned and operated business that today stands as the largest Canadian independent brewery: Moosehead.
"the [brewing] industry directly and indirectly supports one out of every 100 jobs in the country, according to a 2013 report"
Reason enough to be proud, engaged, and thirsty for our Canadian brews!
Cheers!
Beer Delivery... by drone?
That's right, Wisconsin's Lakemaid Beer is actually planning on utilizing drones to deliver their beer to ice fishermen (and women, as you see above) after Amazon announced the plan to use delivery drones in shipping.
They're in the testing phase right now, but this video serves as proof that this could be a great idea for getting sought after beer to remote areas, should regulation eventually allow it.
I can definitely get behind this idea, seeing as the increased ease of access to great beer inevitably leads to increased happiness levels everywhere.
More on this story here.
Cheers!
A new study found that non drinkers are more likely to die early than those who drink moderately.
"Abstaining from alcohol significantly shortens life."
I think I'll have a beer...
Maybe not actually, but it sure is a delicious way to relax...
A potential legal spat brought a chance to draw distinctions between businesses â and to be funny.
Here we see a small brewpub, Exit 6, in (almost) legal battles with a non-brewing company, Starbucks. It seems this tiny craft brewing operation has taken the high-road, while not forgetting to land a few low blows to this massive corporation.
Makes you wonder if these large companies will ever have enough, and quit bullying the little guys. Losing market share day in and day out, I guess desperate times call for similar measures.
A MONTANA-BASED craft brewer is suing the world's largest beer-maker, alleging that popular YouTube videos for Bud Light violate its trademarked phrase, "Hold my beer and watch this".
I just hope Big Sky has enough resources to battle this beer giant without going under.
Boulevard Brewing's extensive barrel-aging cave.
And check out this interesting article for more info on the role of barrels in craft beer.

Despite my ever-evolving love for coffee, this is research I can get behind!

Bombings over beer?? Destruction of beer?? They're doing it wrong.
The face of the American homebrewer is changing ever so slightly as a younger, more diverse generation starts to make its own beer.
A wise and well spoken man, that Benjamin Franklin.
Tasting: Evil Twin Brewing's Disco Beer
This Imperial IPA rings in at 10.5% abv, and is not to be taken lightly. Evil Twin - allegedly the twin brother of Mikkeller, also based out of Denmark - brewed this beer in The Netherlands, and specially aged it in Chardonnay barrels to bring it to near perfection.
Huge hop characteristics are complimented by a refreshing grape tartness and hints of oak, making this a uniquely quenching beer experience. Keep your eye out for this rare and outstanding gem at your beer store, and grab me another if you find it!
Cheers!
