Where to go from here

Its been 440 videos and countless hours recording, editing, photshoping and promoting. I've pushed hard and had opportunities open. But lately nothing works.. at one point after numbers drop in half for a main series you start to wonder if its you. Did I do something? Is it the content? Maybe it's the name.. I've been wondering this for a while. I've even reached out to people for advice. I do plan to keep plugging away but it might be time to look at change the channel completely or at least make changes to series and the content within them.

The console market seems to be dead in Japan. Top selling hardware last week was the 3DS with 196,274 units sold while the WiiU sold 43,950, followed by the Ps4 at 43,495..... Don't ask about Xbone...1,162.

"Likely Spam"

So today I noticed a new “Likely Spam” post in my Youtube comment section. I thought why not check it out, its usually posts asking for me to check out their channel or something crazy like that.

But not this one, this one was something even more interesting. I have edited the post because I don’t need unwarranted drama or anyone to get the wrong Idea.

looks like a modpack lol wtf happened to ****? or *****.. aso notced tht u werent in the *** & on axed gaming podcast crap? what the hell man. its like youve shat on anything ****** and cut ties with all the ppl. care to explain…?

First why I love this post, the individual felt the need to attack me without knowing the full story and wanted me to explain.

Lets move onto the meat of his anger, and let me say I’ve never seen this person on or around my channel, it seems I have upset him by not doing what he wants or he believes I’ve signed contracts to play certain things at certain times. 

His question as to where one series is or what has happened to it. If he was active around my channel he’d know that it was on a week break because of the holidays. Are we Youtubers not allowed to play on more then one Modded server? I haven’t said or done anything to make people think it was ending, just took a break like many of the other members have done.

He then decides to move into a more personal attack and aim it at the new Axed Gaming Podcast. I’ve wanted to do a gaming podcast well before the Codex days and envisioned something that would be a weekly show following the industry I absolutely love. I have no ill will or hate towards the other Podcast… but time zones do suck. I live on the east coast and stay up to 3 am in the morning to record a podcast was not feasible anymore. So I decided it was time for me to go on my own and align the podcast on what I wanted to do originally.

I run my channel how most do and how people should…. Game and play what they want. I’m not going to be forced into recording or playing by negativity or rude comments and will continue what I’m doing.

Did I need to explain to him why I do things? No, but I had the time so why not ;)

Christmas 2014

This Christmas has to be one of the most stressful in recent years. Around 3pm on Dec. 25th I started receiving texts about a family member and I literally went cold when I heard the news. Its not a sickness or an injury, but something I've lived through and could take a toll on two amazing kids. I'm hoping it all works out, but once that "D" word is thrown out its hard to take back. Not only have I seen the family member in tears but its also really taking a toll on my father. He's a man of few emotional outbursts but when it comes to his family he cannot hold them back. All I can wish for is that its kept civil for the boys. I cannot tell you, as a kid who had someone walkout on them, how much a nasty split up affects you throughout your life.

Axed Gaming Podcast on SoundCloud

Working on the Podcast Graphics. My plan is to get the audio version out probably around Tuesday and Wednesday of every week. Followed by the video version of the podcast which have a graphics to go along with the stories. Each podcast will end with comments or questions from the listeners/viewers so make sure to send them on in. :)

This is who I Am..

During this Youtube journey, I've had to push myself into being comfortable with people again.. what do I mean by that? Earlier on in my life I went through some personal experiences that made me push people away. This was to make sure I never had to live through those moments again. Friends became fewer and far between and my ability to socialize was affected. I get very anxious when in a group of people I don't know. Slowly I've been trying to learn to stay calm under these circumstances but its a day by day process. With that being said I feel like this is helping me. While I may not collab in each video I've definitely started to open up and start trying to bring people in. -BrhysH

Worked on 3 new videos for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday today. The best part of each video is coming up with a thumbnail. I'm not going to lie Photoshop and me have a connection, and I love learning new techniques each time I open up the program.

Shot passed Milestone

Its been a crazy two weeks for me on youtube. First, with help from some really awesome people the channel went over 500. Now we're sitting half way to 600, this us blowing my mind. Now I know what you're saying, "you growing because of the giveaway". That is partially true, but I'm also seeing you numbers higher than ever before around the channel as well as liked videos increasing. I'm going to continue pushing the daily videos as long as I can. The hard work is paying off, but there is much still to do. Hopefully we can break four digits in the new year. :) - BrhysH

Youtube Comments

Over the last few months I've noticed not only a jump in views but comments.

Some of which as a person make you feel like a million bucks. I'm not one to post comments around the internet to show how much people like me, but I do want to say thank you. Day in and day out I read each comment negative and positive. Here are some that just hit that spot and made me say. "wow ok lets do this":

I deserve this account because i'm epic... only joking. I have only been subscribed to you for a short amount of time, but i've realized your a really cool guy and should have way more subscribers than you have now. You were happy about your 500 subscriber mark, but I can tell that maybe even in a few months time, your going to be making videos for 1000 subscribers, then eventually 10,000 and this channel will just grow and grow. You have such a loving channel and great friends, like Graphoniac, MK and all the rest. I hope you grow into what you deserve to be, and never give up your youtube dream, because your going to get there someday :)

New sub here, great voice, great content. I have a couple questions, what kind of music do you like and who is your favorite band/artist.

I feels good to know people are enjoying the work going into this hobby of mine.
