Long day helping this three day old foal and his momma who has mastitis. They’re a tough duo, so I think they’re going to be okay

Can’t believe it, my perfect girl is so close to getting ready to pull some weight on a drag! Putting her to the cart is not far in the future. She has been brilliant, challenging in the proper ways, and so wonderful. I’m so lucky for her and for the spot I found up at her training farm. I basically spend all of my free time up there either training her or riding her slew of brilliant little ponies. Heaven!

Tomorrow Astra is heading to my trainer’s barn so I can be mentored while we get her started driving! I am nervous and excited. I took this photo so I can have a reference for how her body changes in regular work.

Oh how I love her, I am so excited for this next adventure!

Giving a guest lecture at Penn State tomorrow about operant conditioning and using Astra as my example, has me going through photos and reminiscing on all we’ve been through together!

And next week she is heading to my trainers barn where she will be boarded for a few months so we can get her started on her driving career. So exciting and humbling, I owe this sweet girl so much.
