The commodity is the basic cell-form of the capitalist society.
Every commodity has a value, a use value, an exchange value and a price.
A commodity's value represent a quantity of human labour.
A commodity has use value when it satisfies a human need or desire.
A commodity has an exchange value when it is traded for other commodities.
A commodity's price is the monetary expression of its exchange value.
A commodity's exchange value is rooted in how much labour went into it.
There are two main kinds of circulation: C-M-C and M-C-M
Producers trade goods they produced themselves.
Merchants trade goods they did not produce themselves.
All forms of capitalism are based on production for profit.
The Capitalist's aim is to gain income from the trade.
The individual sells his labor-power as a commodity. This means he and the owner of money must meet in the marketplace as legal equals.
The Capitalist buys labour power and means of production.
The capitalists make a profit because they only need to pay workers their value, but the workers produce more than that amount in a day.
The employer can claim right to the profit because he owns the productive capitalist assets.
