Stay the Night ☯ Brielle & Dash
Dash followed Brielle to the shoreline, trying to keep his eyes from dwelling on her body too much. He knew what her mother would say and staring at somebody - especially a woman - just wasn’t acceptable. He wasn’t raised that way and he had eyes for a reason, which should be used for better things that personal and internal satisfaction. Dash sat down next to her and would have wanted to wrap his arm around her shoulders but held himself back. He needed to back off. Otherwise, Brielle might think that he was after something else, even though all he really wanted was to feel her warm body against his, to feel that glorious feeling that there was actually somebody out there who wants to listen to him, someone who wasn’t a therapist. Dash looked down at his hands, not really knowing what to say. Guys out there who hurt Brielle were idiots, and though she didn’t seem to trust him that much yet, it was fine by him. God knows how hard it was for Dash to trust anyone with what happened to his sister. “Yeah, I get that but I just want you to know that I’m not that kind of guy. I wasn’t raised to be some asshole who give pain rather than love. I don’t even want to be one of those people.” He muttered, shrugging his shoulders before smiling softly.
"You think you like me?" Dash asked, the smile slowly growing wider. He tilted his head to the side and looked down at her with a mixture of trepidation at the unknown, yet there was excitement there too. He knew this was the start of something really great and though it almost seemed as if they were rushing things, dash couldn’t help but lean towards her and plant another kiss on those soft lips of hers. It took awhile but Dash finally pulled back long enough to look into her eyes. Cheesy at it sounded, he could actually feel his heart beat rather abnormally in his chest and his face split into a wide grin. "Yeah, I think I’m starting to like you too, Brielle." With a sigh, he looked out at the beach. "So is there anything you want to know about me?" He asked with slight wariness. He made a mental note not to say anything about his sister just yet.
"Oh, god, sorry. I- I didn't mean it as that, you know. I know there's something much more to you than just what I'm seeing right now," she paused, carefully choosing her words, not wanting to make the same mistake twice. "It's just that I have to be sure." she finally said and intently looked at Dash. Make him understand, Bri, she mentally told herself. One night at the beach isn't going to cut it for them. Probably a few more dates would be required, since Brielle had trust issues herself. And she was starting to really, really like Dash. She wanted to take baby steps, as she didn't want to mess anything up between them the moment she says or does something stupid. She sighed before resting her head on his shoulders. "We could do this again sometime. Maybe get a coffee or something," she said softly. "Or even shopping. I'd like to think of myself as a good shopping buddy, even for guys," Brielle chuckled and looked at Dash once again, her eyes twinkling. She just knew that this would be a good start.
Brielle smiled widely once Dash pulled back from the kiss. This I'd never get tired of, she mentally said. It was a nice feeling. Being kissed. It doesn't even matter if it was from someone else. A kiss makes you feel important, loved, wanted. And that was what Brielle wanted to feel all along. Brielle took hold of Dash's hand and turned it over her and held it with her other hand, just above her hips. She let herself relax against Dash's chest and sighed softly. She thought about her question before asking, "Tell me about your family. Like, how are you guys during Christmas - that is, if you even celebrate it -, how is your mom's cooking, what does your house look like, those sorta thing. It doesn't have to be big. I just want to imagine how you grew up." Brielle looked up at Dash and gave his neck a quick peck before resting her head once again on his shoulder.
