i think a fave mackleno dynamic for me is them giving each other the softness + tenderness that they both wanted from will but didn't get. bc will doesnt see them as actual romantic interests- just purely physical ways to obtain pleasure, so the two of them are so desperate n starved for affection and then they get to be two cute puppies who cuddle and play catch together.

that's also a really lovely dynamic! a lot of mackleno to me hinges on their individual relationships with will and not getting what they want from him. I would probably never write something sweet and soft like that with them simply because I prefer when they're not experiencing actual happiness like that but I do think it's sweet.

it's definitely gonna be a while before it's posted because it's shaping up to be a long one. my "rough outline" doc alone is already about 10x longer than my last fic lol. and unfortunately i do have a full time job that isn't writing hrpf so that's really cutting into my fic writing time.

i do like that idea! i hesitate to add another college era mackleno to my ideas list though because i already have a couple and frankly i like current mackleno more. i'll ponder it in my mind palace though!!
