If I over analyze julie and luke's scene in school where he want to talk about what song they are gonna play.. in the begining luke says " you are gonna take a call while we are talking?" Right?..

I think he isn't asking this because he is dumb. He forgot he's a ghost when he is with Julie.. He "feels a live again". He feels real and normal with her. And it's really heartbreaking when Nick comes he remembers that he isn't in the picture
