Gift for a friend for her surprise baby shower. She loves giraffes and is doing a giraffe nursery theme. We went to the zoo recently and her eyes were lit up with joy and awe as she watched the giraffes, and I knew I had to paint her a surprise. I hope she likes it!

#kirby is so damn cute

I got the absolute cutest and sweetest art commission! A little boy’s favorite stuffed toy, to become a painting to keep on the wall long after he has grown out of his bunny. Design elements from his favorite blankie will be part of it. I tried a few mediums but ultimately watercolor won out. Which makes sense, I suppose. Soft and dreamy, like the memories of those days with little bitty humans.

Anyway, I’m really excited!

A friend of mine sent me this meme and suggested I draw it. I was like hmmmm!!! Good idea boo.

I immediately pictured a penguin with meringue hair, standing in a pie dish. I then figured someone with such fine dessert hair would feel quite proud of it. And while penguins are oftener likened to looking like they’re wearing tuxedos, this one looked like it was wearing a yellow shrug/bolero thing to me. 🤷‍♀️
