I donât use Tumblr anymore, and neither do you. However, this is where we began and where we existed entirely (with the exception of that one night in LA), so I feel like this is where I should put this. I just want to thank you for showing me what I deserved from a partner. It was from the way you spoke to me that I realized I must be recognized as the goddess I am. It was from the intimacy we created while far apart that I realized I could let someone in who was close. Cultural appropriation: the adoption of certain elements (bindi, niqab, etc) of an oppressed peopleâs culture/practice by a privileged dominant culture, for the purposes of enjoyment (or to appear exotic and âhipsterâ), and without the adoption of the experiences of racism, oppression, and discrimination that are manifested in those elements for the minority groups. Cultural appropriation is Khloe being praised for wearing something that Muslim women get abused and discriminated against for wearing on the daily. It is when Khloe wears it for an Instagram post, while Muslim women devotedly choose to wear it to follow their faith, despite the racism and discrimination they (we) face.
I hope you find someone who doesnât make you sad at night and someone who reminds you how much they love you every day and who laughs at your jokes and wants to listen to your music and who genuinely whatâs to be with you and doesnât make you second guess their love for you. I really hope you find that. Because you deserve that.
