Drew wrapped his arms around, running hands gently through her hair as he tried to be comforting to her. “Don’t apologize,” he whispered, truly wanting her to feel safe coming to her. “I won’t leave you alone, promise,” he said and for a moment he could almost imagine everything working out, them being together and at least being content; Bri deserved to be happy. And instead she was being tormented alongside everyone else - it was fucked up. “It’s okay to not be okay, you know with everything.”
Bri let out another shaky sigh as Drew stroked her hair like that, eyes burning with unshed tears. “Thank you,” she murmured to him as he held her like that and comforted her. “I just- He was my best friend...” she finally said after a moment, trying to fight back tears. Showing weakness and being vulnerable in front of the other, something she never allowed herself to do with anyone. She didn’t want to show that to Drew, but it was getting hard to hold it all in. She swallowed thickly and nodded again at his words. “I know, but I still just expect him to be there every day and I don’t know how to react to the fact that he’s not.”
