“Ok so the recipe said to add a cup of flour” She said looking over at the cookbook as she mixed up the dry ingredients in a bowl. “Then we can start combining the wet and dry stuff”

“Alright.. one cup of flour coming right up!” The blonde happily moves to grab the flour, cup in her hand ready before looking confused when she speaks up again, “Wait - which flour..? There are like two different ones here..” Maddy frowned, looking in the cupboard before turning to look back at Cleo, “Are you going to tell me what we are making yet? Or do I have to wait and see?”

“I know, that’s the rule of a best friend, you have to look out for each other” She smiled. “Test me out? You really wanna bring out the bad in me don’t you?” Cleo chuckled. “Bring me over to the dark side?” Cleo smirked, coming from her best friend though, it didn’t sound that bad.

“I kind of like the sound of this..” she bit her lip, laughing as she nodded quickly, “But of course I do - we need to get it out at least a little more.. and hey..” she paused, reaching over to wrap an arm over Cleo’s shoulders, “Did you not hear that saying - we have cookies..”

“I got hair extensions and my roommate made fun of me.” He nods. “I DID send my roommate a crush basket but only because they love food, okay I have a crush on them but I will never say.” He sighs. “Okay that was off topic. I’m not sure if I’ll get involved either.”

“Well - that wasn’t the nicest thing was it..” she hummed and shook her head, chuckling as he spoke, “Well that’s alright - I’ve not been too involved in it myself, I kind of avoided those basket things personally but - maybe something more fun will come up soon.”

“Oh man, all those ideas sound pretty good to me honestly” She smiled. “I mean messing with people is always fun and embarrassing someone always gets a laugh out of me.” She chuckled. “And what do you mean by risky?” She asked with extreme interest.

“Don’t they just? I’ll admit... I’ve done a bit of each every now and then.” She chuckles softly, perking up with a quick grin at the question, “Risky more like - huge chance of getting caught or in trouble.. you know - a bit of risk can be fun but, its also a little ... troublesome.”

“Yeah it kind of hurt a lot,” Melody cringed at the memory. It had been a lot of pain and she didn’t want to go through all of it again. “I’ve found that a combination of towels and hairdryers work the best, but it still takes a while.”

“Yeah.. I’m kind of glad my powers don’t cause anything like that.” Maddy shook her head before looking back at Melody, chuckling softly, “Well it sounds time consuming but, I’m sure you’ve found some fun things with it right?”

“Thank you Copper. You’re really sweet. But - stress always seems to find a way.”

“What would you use to describe yourself, then?” Lonnie asked, genuinely curious. “I’ve found that we tend to see ourselves pretty different from the way we present to the world.”

“myself?” Maddy shook her head, she hadn’t really been asked that all that often, “I’ve... I honestly am not sure.. I’m just me..” her nose scrunched up slightly, thinking about it. “I really don’t know what I’d use to describe myself..”

she hummed ‘ you want electric or basic to begin? ’ she asked.

maddy glanced around, looking around at the ones on display before looking back at Mal, “I’m not sure.. you’re kind of the pro - or more of a pro than I am.. what do you suggest?”

“Yeah I have not figured out how to balance on it yet. It kinda hurt when I tried? Like if you tried to dance on pointe without the proper training first.” She sighed and nodded. “I have to be completely dry before the legs come back, which is a nuisance and a half.”

“Ohh ouch that sounds painful..” She visibly cringes at the idea befoe shaking her head, “Okay that just sounds annoying, have you worked out a quick way of drying yet or is that still a challenge?”

“It’s an unfortunate truth, but still a truth,” she nodded. She smiled at her. “I mean, you’ve been nothing but sweet and kind to me so far, so I don’t see why it wouldn’t be a fitting nickname.”

Maddy shakes her head, there were many reasons she found guys utterly annoying - and that was one of them for sure, “Ah see - there are very very few people who would agree with you on that part..” even still she gave a small smile, it felt nice to have someone actually think that of her, “But sweetheart isn’t reall ysomething that fits me normally.”

“Well I’ll always look out for you Maddy” She smiled, wrapping an arm around Maddy’s shoulders. “Well everyone who lived on the Isle has a bit of VK in them, but mine is very minuscule” She chuckled. “ok, if you’re sure”

“And you know I’ll look out for you too - right?” She speaks up, shifting slightly to grin back at Cleo, “Well - we could always test you out a bit, who knows - maybe I can bring more VK out in you than you expected.” Now she had a tiny smirk on her lips as she thought about it more, it might be fun.

she moved to the bike store and held over the door for maddy ‘ going to gift me mittens? ’ she teased as she followed her in.

Maddy chuckled, eagerly stepping into the store and turning back to Mal as she spoke, “Now - now, if I tell you it won’t be a surprise.” she teased playfully before looking around the store eagerly, “Ohh this might be a challenge to pick something good out”

“I’m gonna do crazy hair because I want an excuse to go crazy but I don’t know about anything else.”

“The crazy hair thing was fun enough - but some of these other things are more.. strange than anything else. I really don’t know if I’ll get involved in any of them unless I have to.”

“Not really, I’m bad at coming up with ideas. What ideas do you have?” She asked curiously. “Not at all, it actually makes things more interesting around here”

She gave a small shrug, playful little grin forming on her face, “Well - that depends, what kind of - ideas are you into? Cause, we can go classic ‘messing with people’ - or we can go with ‘utterly embarrassing someone’ - there is also the option of a more risky variety though.” she held her hand behind her back, raising her eyes towards the older blonde, “I like to help make things interesting.”

“It’s ridiculous, but I do what I have to,” she shrugged. She giggled and offered Maddy a smile. “I’ll keep that in mind, you’re a sweetheart, really.” She knew she could handle herself, but the thought was nice.

“Its one of those sad things I’ve noticed.. unless you actually have the same parts as them, guys rarely listen to you.” she gave a small shrug before looking up quickly, confusion on her face, “Me? A sweetheart? I don’t think I have ever been called that..”

“Oh yea, it was annoying how protective I was of Giselle” She said with a roll of her eyes. “That was how I was though, I sucked at being a VK but rocked at being a sister” She chuckled. Cleo laughed and shrugged her shoulders. “If you really want me to I will” She smiled. Cleo prided herself in being able to read peoples emotions, especially those she cared about. It wasn’t hard for her to see someone’s face and know how they were feeling, she was just sensitive like that.

“To some it might be annoying - but others, it would be a nice thing to have someone looking out for them.” Maddy gave a small smile and a shrug before chuckling, “I’m sure you have always been a great sister Cleo, and I am certain you have a little VK in you..” she hummed and thought about it before shaking her head, a pinky promise was ... seriously corny. She didn’t need something like that, “I’ll be okay - promise.”

“Hey - who said we were crazy? I like to think I’m just a little.. unique.” She waved her hand as she skipped ahead, a wide smile on her face, “Well I said  I couldn’t make them - doesn’t mean you won’t get some.”
