Alex sat down at the foot of the motels bed. The mattress hard and uncomfortable. The room looking like it was here since the 50s. But it was the cheapest place in this universe, and it’s not like they were going to stay here for long. Alex gets up and puts their leather jacket and other weapons in their hammerspace, (Surprising huh?) before walking to the bathroom and washing their face with cold water. Sighing deeply and stoping to look in the mirror. The large scar the most prominent thing on their face. A mark of that day of terror and bloodshed. Voices whispering in their ear. “You couldn’t save them. It’s your fault. People died under your command.” Their eyes harden and they quickly turn, looking at the white portal maker on their wrist with splots of blue, pink, purple, and yellow pastel paint on it. They aimed it at the floor, and it opened to a temple. They grabbed their sword and put it on their back before landing on the ground with a loud ‘thump.’
Alex started to look around, their eyes narrowed at the large statue in the middle. They’ve seen it a few times before, mostly from other places. Sometimes the god looked different. Sometimes he existed, other times he was just a figment of other people’s imagination. They turn around again and walked to see everything. A place for bandits to hide, a fight nearby, anything.

There was a disturbance. He would've felt it anywhere, but he felt everything that happened in his temple more acutely than anywhere in the world. Like someone had poked a hole in him, or pinched him. Whatever this entity was here for, Khonshu didn't trust mortals who bounced between dimensions without a care in the world, whether they used technology or magic.
The temple was cold, torch holders empty or looted long ago. Stone and sand weren't known for retaining heat; desert nights were deceptively cold. Still, moonlight shined through the open ceiling and threw around strange shadows around Alex. Like something besides them was moving around the temple.
Khonshu didn't wait too long to speak. He wouldn't get any answers if they grew bored and portal'd out.
"What do you want?" A disembodied voice hissed.
The young adult barely moved, not out of fear, but out of indifference. They hummed and continued to look around. They realize that no one was here to harm, or to even cause the slightest bit of trouble. They were not needed. Alex decided that they might as well answer the voice, seeing as they had nothing else to do.
“Nothing from you…”
