The city was at its quietest in the hour before dawn. Streetlights cast pale pools of gold across rain-slick pavement, their reflections SHIMMERING beneath Morpheus’s measured footsteps. His black coat drifted around him like living shadow, blending seamlessly with the darkness that clung stubbornly to the alleyways.
He should have returned before first light. Instead, hunger had kept him wandering. It lingered beneath his skin like a slow-burning FEVER, sharpening every sound until the distant rhythm of a single heartbeat eclipsed the city’s fading nightlife. Warm blood. Close.
Morpheus stopped at the mouth of an alley. Crimson had begun to bleed into the endless blue of his eyes as his gaze settled upon the lone figure in the distance, his gums aching with the gnawing urge to BITE into flesh.

“You messed up. You let them start this. The wall is coming down.

Orpheus shifted in his sleep, visions of hands grabbing his wrists and neck clouding his mind. He was lying in his bed, in his room, in the House Of Hades. There were no windows. His lyre sat in the corner, a few of its strings coming off.
He wakes with a gasp, his eyes wide and his hand clutching his chest. His heart. It was beating too fast. He needed to breathe. He couldn’t.
As he starts to slow his breath, he shuffles out of his bed, his blanket falling to the floor. He grabs a hair-tie, and he ties up his now long, curly hair.
“Another nightmare… Gods…”
He mumbled to himself, grabbing his bandanna. It’s color had already started to fade, much like everything else in his life now. He had begun to ignore the static-ness he felt in his head when he tried to remember anything from his life before.
“It doesn’t matter.”
Orpheus walks out of his dark room, rubbing his eyes.

Debating whether or not she was in the mood to put up with someone at the risk of them possibly ruining her good mood. Even so, she couldn't deny there were numerous attractive people in the club that evening. A pleasant thing to see during a time she needed to forget and simply feel. Not long after she'd begun to scan the crowd at her leisure her eyes locked with a stranger's gaze from across the room, piquing her interest enough to make her smile at them from across the room.
