These are injuries that were caused by the Hartz and Sargeant’s  lines of flea and tick products.

These pet products are notorious for causing permanent nerve damage, a variety of illnesses, hair loss, seizures, convulsions, and death.

Do. not. use. these. products. Warn friends and family against using them. You can read testimonials from owners of these poor pets here.

I have good news though!! There is now an online petition you can sign to ban the harmful ingredients in these products, Pyrethrin and Pyrethroid.

Zeus is all shaved and cleaned up! He’s going to be on antibiotics and a pain Med but Wow. I’m never going to be using Hartz again guys. This is from continuous use of their flea medicine and it got HORRIBLE because of how thick his skin is. Please, use other products than Hartz, I dont want any of my followers to go through the scare I did.

This may be weird, and I have no idea why I’m posting it here but I’m gonna do it anyway. Hahaha.

Okay, here goes..

I was combing my hair earlier and flakes fell! Flakes! Goddamn dandruff flakes! So I go into panic mode in search of homemade remedies cause I cant leave my house with fucking dandruff flakes falling on my shoulders. So, I saw that yogurt can be a good cure. I go to the fridge only to find out that we’re out. Hot damn!

So I go to the bathroom. Looked around and saw my dog’s shampoo. It has a “rich vanilla fragrance” and it “soothes irritated skin”.

Guess what I did next.

Currently I’m massaging my scalp for the 5 minutes the label stated.

Hahahaha.

As if this post wasn’t weird enough, I also tasted dog food at some point in my life. I swear I was a dog in my past life. Hahahaha.

What's even more disturbing than this person using a flea and tick shampoo for dogs on themselves is that Hartz' tumblr account actually LIKED and REBLOGGED this AND a related post despite the fact this is a violation of their EPA required labeling. This is not surprising given Hartz' lack of discretion when it comes to self promotion, combined with its insatiable desire to profit with no regard for safety or federal regulations.

i’m on a computer with  fucked up keyboard so i’m sorry in advance for possible typos. Last night, at about 145, I found  beautiful black cat. I’ve named her Boo and my boyfriend has decided to keep her. The reason for this post is to thank everyone who has reblogged the post about the Hartz products. I was trying to buy flea shampoo when I vaguely remembered all the horrific things that have happen to pets because of that company. So, thanks, everyone! Time to bathe a Boo kitty.

I recently found a website dedicated to victims of Hartz products. Their most recent article is quite interesting.

The kitten I came upon was vivacious and energetic as well as happy and loving. I fed her cow’s milk and as expected she got diarrhea. I needed something, though. I knew I had to get a formula, so I went to Wal-Mart and bought Hartz’s formula. I didn’t know any better. Over time the time span of four days, my kitten started having disturbing symptoms. I did not connect them to the formula until it was too late. The first night she threw up, which I just attributed to tummy upset. The next few days I started noticing that when I would feed her, a half hour or so later she would start acting odd. Day two, after a feeding she just went in a corner and started meowing loudly. She also would stare off into space and circle around in her litter box and just fade off. When she would re-animate, she started acting very restless as if she was looking for something. She started just hiding behind things, as if she was sick. She didn’t do that when “normal”. The third day, I had to take her to the vet because I thought something else was wrong. On this day, she was doing the trance thing and was very restless alternating with near paralyzation over and over. I noticed she also had bad gas. The vet put her in an incubator with oxygen and gave her fluids. She somehow miraculously popped out of it after a few hours (digestion time, hmm?). The next day, the symptoms returned after feeding. I put her in a box with blankets because she kept doing the weird trance thing and was obviously distressed. She just stood in the corner with her head against the walls, like she couldn’t move. Her tail was twitching oddly and near the end before she lost consciousness, she was mewing loudly. She never did this before. Obviously, this time her reaction was so severe that I had to put her to sleep. My last memory of her, besides standing in a corner unresponsive, was of her lying in an incubator, totally dead to the world. Thanks for killing my kitten, Hartz. Please, everyone, do NOT give your kitten this poison. Get KMR.

I had just gotten a new kitten, she was 6 weeks old. She was a healthy little ball of energy, very playful & loving. I decided to get the Milk replacement formula for her because she wasn’t interested in the other kitty Crunchy food I had for my other kitten. So I fed her the Formula mixed with water as described on the container at 9pm (10/19/12 Friday). She ate the formula. I went to sleep at 11Pm, woke up at 8am the following morning to find my kitten lifeless. I thought she was already dead. I seen that she had been throwing up throughout the night. I checked her & she was still breathing, she had a lifeless stare in her eyes so I rushed her to the Animal Hospital & the Vet told me she looked like she was poisoned because her upper body was paralyzed & her back feet were ok. He told me she wouldn’t survive. I then made the decision to euthanize the poor kitty to put her out of her Misery. We buried her in my backyard. R.I.P Lilah. If this formula wasn’t sold in stores today my kitty would still be here.

In our latest blog post, Hartz UltraGuard One Spot for Cats and Kittens' only listed ingredient is s-Methoprene, an insect growth regulator known to be of low toxicity to mammals.

Despite the supposed contents, a cat recently died in Canada of suspected permethrin poisoning after being treated with this product. This product is also widely distributed in the US at nearly every major grocery store and retail outlet. The victim has documentation from her Vet, who had this permethrin poisoning opinion supported by a toxicologist with the ASPCA, after the cat experienced a grand mal seizure and had to be euthanized.

All Hartz products are dangerous to animals!

Their Kitten Milk Replacement has been known to kill kittens within 24 hours and the Flea Drops can cause anything from burns to poisoning to death. Please do not use these products and tell any pet owners you know.

I’ve seen it at least 15 times today and it makes me so nauseous every time I see it. I’m glad I saw it the first time, but oh my god that picture wrecks me and makes me so uncomfortable and I just can’t. Same with any pictures of animals being abused/mutilated.
