STORYBROOKE | Production Company Animation
The inspiration for my film intro came from my love of writing stories in all their forms. I sought to incorporate different forms of storytelling -- books and films -- while also adding a magical element. The magical element, achieved through the appearance of the book in a galaxy-like backdrop, seeks to key the audience in that they are about to be transported to a new world through the film they are about to watch.
The element I struggled with the most was creating the books, an opened version and a closed version. If I were to do this project again, or on a professional scale, I would make the book a 3-D object that could handle physical animations, such as articulation of the book covers, rotation of the book so that it can be viewed from any angle, and a better zoom transition that makes the chairs pop from the background. I think my strongest point of the animation is my use of 3-D space and the camera tool in the theater portion. Upon reflection, if I were to do the animation again, I would not add the roughened edges to the logo at the end, in order to reflect the letter on the cover of the book in the beginning.
