y’all…“storm area 51, they can’t stop all of us” was only 8 months ago. that’s no time at all. i really thought it was like 2 years ago. like if a child was conceived on the day they “stormed area 51,” it probably wouldn’t even be born yet. these past five years have been the longest century of my life.

thinking about how IICHY could’ve been Shawn’s first number one on the billboard hot 100...bc of how hard we were streaming and how much we love her....now he still doesn’t have a #1 on bb hot 100 (no i’m not counting that ugly ass pr song we didn’t ask for)

i actually felt bad for camila that all romance press was centred on shawn - i mean yes it was a album called romance lol but i actually like a lot of the songwriting itself (not a fan of all the songs) so i felt bad that it was like a female being overshadowed by her relationship? and yes she has so many collars or features! i remember lewis capaldi said last year he turned down her team to release a version of someone you loved with her. i feel her music is well known but not her herself?

Her team could have changed that perspective on a dime if they so chose - but they didn’t. They played into, leaned hard on it and rested a ton of the success/banked on him.them being a thing as a tentpole in their strategy. And it was obvious from the get-go and throughout the entirety of it.

I cannot tell you one interview that I saw that didn’t circle back or have the him/ the them of it all when it was supposedly a press push on a new album. If interviews got coverage (aka her on Fallon then getting picked up by say an Entertainment Weekly) it led with relationship stuff before the music.

It’s a piss poor way to go about pushing and promoting a new album, even if it’s supposedly centered around love and romance.

People know Havana mostly, now Seniorita. Ask anyone who isn’t knee-deep in her fandom if they can mention any other songs or anything else about her, I’d bet good money they don’t. Maybe that she was a part of 5H and that she left. She’s slightly recognizable and that’s only from the type of press they’re constantly barraging aka pap photo pick up.
