“If you will stay close to nature, to its simplicity, to the small things hardly noticeable, those things can unexpectedly become great and immeasurable.”
— Rainer Maria Rilke, Letters to a Young Poet
Let’s get this cottagecore party going
I cannot WAIT for the first launch next Spring 2022! We are shooting for launching around the end of March! We will be a womens activewear company for the first 2-3 years or so (probably) unless things ramp up faster and we can start doing mens wear.
I just got pics a few weeks ago of the first samples. I’m not allowed to show or explain anything as far as theme or designs go (NDA and all that jazz). But AHHH. I love this job! I’m already working on patterns for next summer 😊🍋☀️
Creating is my absolute passion. I’ve always wanted to be an inventor of some kind and getting to do this work is really amazing! I hope you enjoy it as much as I do when you see these designs!
Behind the name:
The name Brook & Vale is derived from an 1800s poem called Ever and Everywhere. It’s about exploring and being out in nature because time is fleeting and we all die so enjoy it while you can.
I mean, I’m not a lit major though. That’s just how I read it, lol.
Lead designer here!!! This is my blog (My name’s Elle, hi there!)
The story behind the logo:
This logo took us an entire month to get just right! It started off as a Victorian gate because we wanted to evoke images of vintage, ornate garden inspired styles.
Then we just kinda went HAM with different shapes. I like crescent moons, medieval flags… and then the shape formed when I was doodling on a nasty piece of notebook paper.
The lyre logo was born! It wasn’t supposed to be a lyre at first, but it definitely fits the aesthetic. Do you think it’s cool? Let us know what you think!
