“Come on baby” he mutters under his breath. 

Vale started his stint just 30 minutes ago and he is already fighting for positions. Marc is watching it all from the WRT garage, headphones firmly planted on his ears not missing a moment of what he is watching on the screen. He hisses every time Vale attacks or defends. His fingers twitching, itching to cross. He tries to keep a poker face, he knows a camera is pointed towards him, trying to capture his every reaction and he doesn’t want to give them anything. Watching his lover race brings out a vulnerability in him that only watching his brother race does. He is worrying his lips, biting on the plush of his bottom lip bringing the blood to the surface, making them appear redder. His brows are furrowed, small wrinkles appearing, his jaw tensing subtly. If he had a heart monitor like the one they used to make Davide Tardozzi wear, it would show how far from unbothered he is and that the calm facade he is trying to show is just that, a facade. 

He started to go to Vale’s races a good six months after they announced their relationship to the public. They wanted the press and the fuss to calm down a bit. Of course Vale had come to the motogp races but not as Marc’s partner. He had reasons to be there, he was the team principal of the VR46 team and a motogp legend. Of course he had come to Marc’s garage a bit to talk and steal a kiss. The press had eaten it up. The picture of Marc sitting on his chair in full leathers, his face hidden by Vale’s, bent down kissing him lightly had gone viral. The moment had just lasted a few seconds but the journalists had talked about it for weeks.

But now the only reason that Marc was at Le Mans was to see Vale. A WAG they called it, wife and girlfriend. A bit mortifying because he was a man. And god had Vale and the boys made fun of him the first time an article came out calling him that. But here he was, a full on WAG. A few minutes ago, Cele had sent a picture of him appearing on the TV on the group chat and it said “8 Times World Champion & partner of Valentino Rossi”. Marc had to bite the inside of his mouth to stop the smile forming, a small blush appearing on his cheeks. He had saved the photo to his gallery.
