I’m super glad I decided to re-read my paper before submitting it. I started this fun game where if I finished a paragraph, I rewarded myself with a shot. You can only imagine what my conclusion sounded like after six pages…
I would really like to see a copy of the first draft. Also six pages, with a shot after every . . . fuck how do you not have alcohol poisoning?

I think I’m gonna have to request a true girl’s night. With liquor and possibly ice cream. Also this way if you have to admonish me for my bad life choices it’ll be in the privacy of my own apartment.

A little bit of a lull isn’t necessarily always the worst thing - it kind of seems like everyone is taking the chance to catch their breath as they embrace the new year. I can’t believe that it’s March already.
But lunch sounds really good! I still haven’t had a whole lot of chances to find the good places to eat out yet.
I guess too much of a lull makes me nervous, puts me in that “waiting for the other shoe to drop” mentality. I can’t believe it’s March either, time seems to be flying by.
Oh well then you should let me treat you. How do you feel about subs? There’s this great Mediterranean inspired sub shop and they put this peruvian sauce on everything that is to die for.

It’s beautiful out today, and the city has felt a bit sleepy. Perhaps we all had too much fun at the masquerade and have found ourselves in a state of post bliss hibernation. I know I’ve certainly been a little slower getting out of bed. Anyone want to grab some lunch with me?

Evie grinned when she realized who was knocking her shoulder. “It is, isn’t it,” she returned, turning so that she could take in the other woman’s beauty. Brook never failed to look stunning. “I’m quite proud of this one. Aurelia did an amazing job. And just look at you,” she made a sweeping gesture with her hand. “Simply gorgeous. How many people have tripped over themselves trying to talk to you tonight, love?”
She leaned in to press a kiss to Evie’s cheek. “Me? Look at you!!” she insisted. “You’re all va va voom, looking like a runway model.” Winking she fanned at her own face. “Alright alright I’ll toot my own horn. I’ve been hit on by three people so far.”

She hadn’t caught the meaning of the foreign word he’d let out, but the tension rolling off him was palpable. “You don’t have to apologize, you didn’t do anything to me,” she answered, putting down her empty glass and surveying him from behind her mask. “Not a big party guy are you?”
Jinho shrugged and managed a small smile. “Parties are fine. It’s just not the best night.” He looked over at Brook. “You look very nice. Are you enjoying yourself?”
“I am,” she answered with a smile. “I haven’t been to a party this big in ages. Sorry to hear you aren’t having the best time.” She tilted her head, wanted to ask what was wrong, see if maybe she could find a way to erase the issue for an hour or two. Nobody should be having a bad time at a party like this.

Aurelia couldn’t help but be massively proud of how everything had turned out. There had been more notice for this party than there had been for New Years or even Valentine’s Day, and she wanted to work hard to both help and impress Evie. The third time was the charm, they said, and the night was proving to be positively enchanting. She felt like a real princess in her gown, with the allure of anonymity behind her mask. She wasn’t Aurelia, not tonight, not really. She was anyone and everyone that she wanted to be, and it seemed others were embracing that same spirit as well. She sipped her drink slowly, surveying the party and drinking in the sight of every person having a good time.
The party was like something out of a movie, dripping with tasteful elegance and allure. Even if Evie hadn’t told her that Aurelia had a hand in the party, she could feel it in the air around her. Brook knew her costume only hid her so much. There were a small handful of redheaded females at this party, but that was alright, she didn’t mind being herself. Brook Winston was a pretty happy girl these days, and her skin was growing comfortable and warm. Still, when she spotted who she thought was Aurelia she couldn’t help but want to play. Sidling over, she spoke in an obviously playful and very bad southern accent. “Oh sugar, don’tchu just look exquisite.’

The thrill of the masquerade. This was Emil’s aesthetic, pure and simple; equal parts unabashed debauchery and utmost elegance. And of course, copious amounts of glitter. He would regret it come morning when the stuff managed to work its way into every nook and cranny on him, but it was worth it for the festivities at hand.
“Buy you a drink, love?” he asked the person who sidled up next to him at the bar.
Her heels were uncommonly comfortable, perhaps because of the inserts she’d added. Or maybe she was just so excited to be here that she was floating on air. The champagne she kept sipping may have also had something to do with it. Flute empty she meandered to the bar, eager for something a little stronger to help her settle her excited butterflies.
The male was given a smile. “Can’t say no to an offer like that. How are you at a bar alone during a shindig like this? You look like you’re a model here for a photoshoot.”
