Brother Jerome digitally coloured drawing I've done weeks ago and didn't even post.

Given that whenever brother Jerome gets his hands busy it is merely to gather useful informations, I've been thinking how in his more youthful years he would go to work with the other young monks just to do the bare minimum and at last get a chance to actually gossip carelessly about everything they've seen and heard both inside and outside the abbey. Time passing, this habit dialed down until he resorted to act just like in the books/series as the prior secretary, along with still present exceptions.

Rhun trying to comfort a sick Jerome. A younger Jerome asking for forgiveness. The two of them focused on a long prayer (Rhun just repeats what he remembers and what the other whispers). From what I've read 'till now,they do not have any interactions at all I guess but from what I know brother Jerome seems to tolerate him more than any other young monk (except Columbanus).

I didn't quite know what to post until I went through my previous sketchbook once again.

The second drawing portrays Æthelstan from Vikings and the last one is actually an assignment I'll definitely take home as soon as I can.

More for this little prompt than the drawing itself, I've been thinking about how the young brother Rhun might be a comforting presence for brother Jerome, as in between all their differences he still finds in him a kind of solace.

The sketch (done at school) is supposed to show how after washing the laundry and putting it away, Rhun spots Jerome sitting all alone, lost in his own worried thoughts, and decides to keep him company for a few minutes.

I need to finish reading the rest of the books, I love the characters so much.

(Maybe I'll try to post my own headcanons someday).

So I’ve been wanting to post about Brother Rhun and how I feel like he’s the only one who genuinely cares about Jerome.

Perhaps I’m projecting my own feelings too much as someone who deals with chronic illness, but Brother Rhun dealt with disability his whole life before being healed. I believe that empowered him with a great amount of empathy and a sensitivity to others who are in pain. And I think Rhun can see how Jerome suffers from emotional pain and insecurity as well as his frequent physical stomach pain. (I have not read the books really at all but in The Holy Thief we find out Jerome is often found in his bed suffering from stomach pain.)

So I headcanon that Jerome is a spoonie and Rhun is a recently healed spoonie who has empathy for Jerome and can see past Jerome’s facade he puts on.

The origin of your username: It's been my nickname since I first set foot on the world wide web back in the early 2000s. Sharks are my fav animals, and I also wanted to make it sound more like a nickname than just the word "shark", hence the final "-y". The number would usually be only a "7" (lucky number), but oftentimes I found that the "sharky7" nick would be already taken (sadge 😔), so overtime I switched to adding "857" instead (YOB + lucky number).

I will always order this food: I don't get to eat out that often, and when I do it's never the same place, so I would order whatever may catch my eye on the menu.

Current favorite show/movie/book? I might tell you my current favourite game, which has been quatting in my brain since 2019, aka: Warframe ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ (You try and pick only one show/movie/book with a moody hyperfixating brain)

Song on repeat? Been catching myself listening to this one quite often, as of late. :°D (And the Italian version too, which the adaptation turned into something even more intense, somehow)

Last thing you fixated on? I've had a minor relapse into "Da Garn", before slipping back into my Tween Era and have started rewatching "Mummies Alive" in the past 2-3 days.

The origin of your username: It's so stupid but I'm not changing it: Anthropic principle is the cosmological principle that theories of the universe are constrained by the necessity to allow human existence. Misanthropic is to dislike humankind and avoid human society. It was me trying to be ironic because those two things contradict each other. It's gotten me the cute nickname of "Miss Anthro". *shrugs*

I will always order this food: I often order the same food for restaurants or take-out places because there's a limit to what I can actually eat (allium allergy). Same cheese pizza. Same sweet and sour chicken. Same little bacon cheeseburger with everything but no onions or ketchup.

I have too many dietary restrictions so if I find something I can eat at a certain restaurant, I just order that and only that. If cheese pizza is on the menu, chances are I’ll get it.

I haven’t been obsessively watching or reading anything lately but just in general my favourite show I’ve watched is Babylon 5, movie is Muppets Christmas Carol, and I don’t really have a favourite book I’m not much of a reader.

What smell makes you happy?

Oh gosh… I love scents. So many make me happy. I really love sweet scents, whether floral or gourmand but honestly nothing beats the natural smell of the earth after fresh rain. I also weirdly like the smell of salt marsh.

Morning, night, or other type of person?

I’m not a morning person but I tend to do well when I force myself up in the morning. I can’t stay up very late either but I’m more of a night person than morning person. I can sleep at any point of the day but that’s also because I’m chronically ill and am always tired.

What’s your work/profession?

I am a classical singer! I particularly love German art song (lieder) and baroque music. Handel has really been my jam lately. I’m still studying but I plan to do something in historically informed performance. 😊
