By the way, for people who did not stay informed about Palestine throughout last week:
Isreal has planned to attack Rafah and to completely close the border to Egypt on the first day of Ramadan. This week is the very last week where we can help disabled people to get out. We do not know when the border will be open again, but it could last month if not a year. And evacuating those people out is extremely expensive. If you can please send money to either of those 2 links:
https://www.paypal.com/paypalme/raindoved
https://venmo.com/u/Rain-Dubilewski
The money is going to Safebow to evacuate kids under 4yo, disabled, and pregnant people. Those are people who definitely will not survive if they are stuck in gaza. They are extremely urgent cases, people with cancer, who need insulin, people with broken mobility aids etc...
please help.
If you're giving at least 20€, you can send me proof of it and I'll count it as an art commission.
Opinion Here’s how to get free Paxlovid as many times as you need it
When the public health emergency around covid-19 ended, vaccines and treatments became commercial products, meaning companies could charge for them as they do other pharmaceuticals. Paxlovid, the highly effective antiviral pill that can prevent covid from becoming severe, now has a list price of nearly $1,400 for a five-day treatment course.
Thanks to an innovative agreement between the Biden administration and the drug’s manufacturer, Pfizer, Americans can still access the medication free or at very low cost through a program called Paxcess. The problem is that too few people — including pharmacists — are aware of it.
I learned of Paxcess only after readers wrote that pharmacies were charging them hundreds of dollars — or even the full list price — to fill their Paxlovid prescription. This shouldn’t be happening. A representative from Pfizer, which runs the program, explained to me that patients on Medicare and Medicaid or who are uninsured should get free Paxlovid. They need to sign up by going to paxlovid.iassist.com or by calling 877-219-7225. “We wanted to make enrollment as easy and as quick as possible,” the representative said.
Indeed, the process is straightforward. I clicked through the web form myself, and there are only three sets of information required. Patients first enter their name, date of birth and address. They then input their prescriber’s name and address and select their insurance type.
February 23, 2024 summary.
Let's Talk Palestine (on instagram news channel):
Updates
• 104 Palestinians killed, 160 injured in Gaza in past 24 hours
• Massacre after Israeli bombardment of a home in Deir al-Balah (central Gaza) killed 24+ Palestinians, while only 1 functioning hospital remains in central Gaza unequipped to receive the many injured
[Magz note: only 1 *partially functioning* hospital remains in *central gaza*. Partial functioning means some vital medical equipment and functionality aren't available. Last month, the IOF targeted the last *fully functioning* hospital in all gaza, so IOF aim for overwhelming the remaining facilities' medical capacities and full medical system collapse next.]
🇺🇸 Biden reverses Trump policy that refused to describe Israeli settlements as illegal under international law, following Israel’s plan to approve 3,300 new units in settlements. The US has long called Israeli settlements illegal while Israel’s never faced any consequences; so this seems to be just another attempt to subtly pressure Israel
• IOF detains two 10-year-old Palestinians in West Bank for 6 hours, accusing them of throwing rocks while playing outside
• Israeli Channel 12: Netanyahu’s announced Israel’s “day after” plan for Gaza. It’s already been criticized by the US. It seems this plan was an attempt to ease US worries about Israel’s lack of vision for the future while balancing ultra-right Zionists

Proceeds are donated to the UNRWA, which is one of the major funding agencies providing aid to Palestine. Recently, the US and other major countries have escalated genocidal efforts by cutting funding from the UNRWA, as AlJazzera reports : Which countries have cut funding to the UNRWA and why?
This is a direct action you can take to say fuck you to the government directed genocidal efforts, bookmark the tab, add a calendar notification daily, do what you want. Or if your prefer: Donate Directly to UNRWA

PROOF OF PURCHASE #2
Flour has been bought! We said in an earlier message, we had said they wanted to buy 40 bags, but because he was told the prices would double soon, the landowner bought extra bags of flour to save up.
The speaker in the video is Hussam from Rafah, the host of the camp. He wanted us to share his first name with everyone to show how appreciative he is to everyone who donated and spread the word.
Donate today to help families in Rafah! This is a direct donation with no middle man, so please help if you can. No amount is too little.
Help SKYVOIP reach their goal by donating or sharing with your friends.
Help Hussam cloth, feed, and take care of the families in Rafah by donating today!
So some good news.
The WFP is actually reaching Ghazzawis for food distribution and has even helped Ghazzan bakeries in Deir Al Balah and Rafah reopen by providing flour, yeast, water, etc... according to Palestinian journalist Hind Khoudary (this was on her story the other day so I can't link it).
The PCRF is also active in Ghazzah, providing medicine and even food to Ghazzawis in shelters.
Today, I ask each one of you to donate at least one dollar to both of these organisations, and more if you can spare it.
If you feel a little crazy looking at news coverage of Gaza or any other military operations, I HIGHLY recommend looking at the Words About War guide which provides lists of misleading phrases commonly used by governments and the media to obscure the realities of war. Sitting down with a news article with this guide and replacing things like "enemy noncombatant" with "civilians" will change the entire way you look at war news and the media as an agent of the military machine. They also have a special guide on Gaza!!

I hope that the discussions happening about Israel--particularly about how arguing for its abolition doesn't equate to antisemitism--are helping people to understand more broadly that nationalists will always claim to be operating in the unified, sovereign interest of an entire group of people, ethnic, religious, etc. and that these claims cannot be trusted. The process of nation-building is a process of creating a national identity--by quashing dissident voices to create the illusion of a monolithic, unanimous national will--and of establishing national boundaries--by the use of force against resistance "internally" (i.e. within the initial territory the emerging nation-state claims as its own) and externally, as it expands.
Anyways, I cannot recommend Fredy Perlman's essay on this topic enough, and to quote from him,
"Nationalism was so perfectly suited to its double task, the domestication of workers and the despoliation of aliens, that it appealed to everyone — everyone, that is, who wielded or aspired to wield a portion of capital. [...] Languages, religions and customs became welding materials for the construction of nation-states.
The welding materials were means, not ends. The purpose of the national entities was not to develop languages, religions or customs, but to develop national economies, to turn the countryfolk into workers and soldiers, to turn the motherland into mines and factories, to turn dynastic estates into capitalist enterprises. Without the capital, there could be no munitions or supplies, no national army, no nation."
Y’all can just say “hey here’s the emulator and game” without being annoying.

SCREAMING
Today is the only day ever for the rest of time that you can reblog this
do you ever get really good at compartmentalizing pain to the point where you don't feel it but you're still impeded by it. like i'm in suffering but i'm not screaming since i'm not moving/agitating but i am not awake at 4 am by choice so it's definitely "too much pain to sleep" but i have to like ANALYZE or accidentally hurt myself to realize that's what's happening
hi my name is Aster and my abusive mom expects me to pay 350 dollars a month to live in a tent in her backyard. im too disabled to work and failing out of school and I'd really really appreciate it if i could get some help buying a better space heater, a swamp cooler for the summer, and a rug for my tent so that dirt from outside doesn't get tracked in too bad. i can provide proof about my situation if needed. anything helps.

I’ve been seeing this pick back up again recently, I think ppl have abandoned the effort to stop the spread of mass misuse of sociopolitical language that’s built specifically for black contexts & black use. But I haven’t 😘
Both “antiblack” & “nonblack” are terms created with the intention of communicating something particular to black experiences & racism. Replacing the “black” in these terms with other races or even other marginalized groups outside of racial contexts completely isn’t just exploitative of black ppls work but it also misrepresents the issues we’re discussing.
I’ve said this 100 times already, but “nonblack” serves to acknowledge all other groups as oppressors > black ppl. Applying it to other groups does not work bc not everyone occupies this same space in society, not everyone experiences oppression from all other groups, and it often is intentionally used as an antiblack dogwhistle to push the false narrative that black ppl do oppress other nbpoc. Here is a post where I talk about it some more.
Here is an article that explains that our status as oppressed by all other groups is an intrinsic part of the meaning of the term “antiblack”. Some quotes from it: “Anti-black racism is the specific exclusion and prejudice against people visibly of African descent...the term ‘anti-black racism’ is helpful and can help us unpick how and why racism affects different ethnic groups in different ways... People from other ethnic minority groups can enact anti-black policies and hold anti-black beliefs.” Again, “anti-[nonblack race]” implies a societal position that all groups do not hold.
Before you ask: 1) no, antisemitism is not appropriative or racist. It is its own term with its own historical use that wasn’t created as a ripoff of antiblack. 2) sometimes we can’t afford to not spread something bc it uses these terms. if you can, yes I do expect you to pass up a post that uses them. Whether you decide it’s best to reblog it still or not, I expect you to respectfully leave a comment bringing attention to the antiblack terminology. It shouldn’t be up to black people to address this by ourselves and it is not derailing to simply tell someone they said smthn antiblack.
I’m not arguing with racists about whether or not black people oppress nbpoc lol. I will just block you so don’t waste your time.
It’s bhm u can tip me for the time & energy I put into explaining & sharing information abt racism :) $heartemojie, @babiephace on venmo, paypal.me/13thead
