Vintage Inspired: “Daisy Pink”

Champagne Travels is modeled by a second edition Midge with long brunette hair. The two dolls you see are one and the same. The doll on your right is showing the sheath dress that is worn under the coat. The champagne colored fabric used for the matching coat and hat was part of The Melissa Windham stash that I inherited last year. There was just enough to do the coat and hat.

A lovely brunette dramatic, Living Barbie models Leaving Orbit, a very full swing coat with matching dress and hat.  (This fabric was given to me yesterday by my friend Gisela Cammarata.  The retro atomic pattern was so cool I couldn't wait to make it into something.)

I found this fabric at a resale shop in Manchester, Michigan last weekend.  It was folded into a square about 3 by 4 inches and priced at 50 cents.  When I got it home I realized it was once part of a 1950s era apron! Squeeeee!!  There was just enough to do the two outfits you see here.  A blonde bend-leg Midge and a second edition titian bubblecut model Picnic Checks and Beach Checks respectively.

A stunning brunette Christie opens the 2016 Paul Bruce Line modeling Orange Sherbet, a summery day dress with ruffled collar and matching orange and white accessories.  She is perfectly outfitted for a summer stroll.

A handsome Allan Sherwood takes his rescued shelter dog Stuart to the annual Mutt Strut.  Allan is dressed just for the occassion in an outfit called Paw Prince.  This suit features a paw print and bone pattern with red accents in the belt, bow tie and boutonniere.

Another ensemble fashioned with fabric from the legendary House of Sally O'Malley.  This outfit, entitled, Touch of Jade, was made entirely from a piece of fabric that measured one yard by three inches. (I love a challenge.)  It is modeled by a second edition bubblecut with platinum hair and lips that have oxididized to white.

A pale blonde American girl is ready for a casual afternoon of fun in Little Green Apple.  (The micro-check was actually a small piece of vintage fabric and the tiny hatbox was once the home of an apple pie.  I loved the colors and graphics and I just dissected the container to make it into this accessory.)

A Casey doll with hair that has oxidized to red is dressed in The Gingham Swing.  This outfit is a burst of pink gingham in varying shades and textures. The perfect outfit for the first warm spring day.

This first edition brunette bubble cut models Wintry Mix, a cold weather shopping ensemble that is just right for those "after the holiday" sales.

Francie debuts her first outfit of the season.  This costume, inspired by the colors of Halloween, is called Gothic Peasant.  It is modeled by Hair Happenin's Francie.

A handsome #2 brunette Ken models Terrazzo, a suit of aqua, light blue and gray inspired by mosaic tiles.  His coordinating satin ascot is the finishing touch of "dapper."
