Smth experimental, I saw some drawings of majestic old, man furries(???) - decided to draw Xeryus as one, tho he has no beans 'cuz I like shoes too much.

Doodle of smth alternative for Xeryus. I still prefer his garments to emphasize his slender silhouette, but the volumes of fabric and patterns on him remind me of some old fables.

I made a retouch of Xeryus's portrait from 2022, still liked it, and wanted to post it on my socials, but I felt like it didn't suit my recent paintings.

Some lore rambling: The root of vampirism - idealistic and passionate man who bears great shame and deep sorrow in his heart.

Sacrificed to the deceased good, in his final moment Xeryus reached out and tasted the flesh and blood of the deity becoming the undead.

As sometimes he is referred to as the first vampire, Xeryus is more of a lich, a source, the first vampires were his proteges - people who died as a human sacrifice to the same pantheon of false gods but were resurrected by Xeryus's blood.

Warm up doodle to get back to the painting regularly. I didn't paint much this year I tried to go back to the painting and failed in most of my attempts. Trying to do too many challenging and ambitious projects left me overwhelmed and frustrated so I've changed my tactic. Studies focused only on one, max two subjects like valor and color and small paintings for practice. We shall see. I hope I'll get back on the right track soon.

Portrait of my main character - Xeryus, physician, skilled hemomancer, abandoned by gods occultist, and the alleged father of vampirism or an idealistic and passionate man with big shame and deep sorrow in his heart. Outlander from the mysterious south who lives in a secluded manor with his proteges, preoccupied with his studies about medicine, life, death, and some ancient deity that sleeps in his garden. I write the rest another time.

Xeryus in his tumor/slumber. I was studying Ayami Kojima's artworks, 'cuz her characters are hot and her art has this wonderful existential mood, so this is my first ink where I applied gained knowledge.
