Every organism from yeast to humans follows the same pattern. It multiplies while resources are good and then creates the famine from which it dies. Sheep, deer, goats etc overgraze wherever they are left to run riot until they turn their environments into deserts. That’s why predators are needed to keep the populations under control. Ecosystems are made up of lots of organisms all following their own boom and bust cycles and regulating each other. Humans are just unusual in that we have the potential to regulate ourselves. (And are currently not doing so.)
Very true. But the first response usually is “why not control population” and you get the 2 child Chinese initiative. That stops it mathematically. What is more beneficial and easier to maintain is, extreme under consumption. Capitalism is in direct opposition to that.
