HEADCANONS

1). Gerard thinks Graham is incredibly whiny. He doesn’t understand why his brother has always resented the rest of them for circumstances they couldn’t control, and definitely doesn’t like how much Graham plays into the system while simultaneously complaining about it. He sees it as ridiculous that Graham, who is set to inherit (and then later actually inherits) the title, the estate, and the wealth, shoulders a burden that he doesn’t actually have to bear if he doesn’t want to. It’s not like he wants to be Lord, either, but he thinks Graham has it the easiest and doesn’t appreciate what he does have. 

2). Gerard wasn’t always interested in school but he starts to read a lot after he becomes close with Diana. She tends to talk a lot about the things she’s interested in, and sometimes when he wants to know what she’s talking about or wants to contribute to the conversation, he actually starts to read certain books or plays or works that she’s mentioned to like. He makes a reference to Much Ado About Nothing once to Graham and is incredibly satisfied at Graham’s surprise. 

3). He knows it’s easy for his siblings to rile him up and even though he doesn’t want to give them the responses they want, he still does because he can’t help himself. When he’s feeling something, he’s feeling it. 

4). He looks at Diana and sees someone who can rule the world if she were just given the chance, but she’s not, so he hopes she’s okay with ruling his world.
