bran-cassidy:
Bran nodded. âShe was holding her when Meera said it. And then immediately afterward when I went in to kiss Rosa, she started hitting me and saying no. She certainly is not one for sharing.â He took a defeated breath. âItâd be super annoying if she wasnât so cute about it.â
âWell, Iâm super glad to be hearing that. You know, that huge grin on your face right now really suits you,â she teased lightly. She reached up to pinch Branâs cheeks playfully. âIâm really glad things are working out with your family now.â
maxinebauer:
âUmâŠscary? But Iâm pretty sure all nightmares are. Itâs never about me dying though. Iâm not scared of dying. Never was.â She always just imagined that sheâd become a ghost, free to come and go as she pleased. She wouldnât be able to talk to anyone, but itâs not like she talked to many people anyways. And she wouldnât have to deal with the ice-cream man. That would be nice.
All she could do was nod a bit. Dying, as she was learning, was less scary. For her, it was watching someone die, especially by her own hand. âNightmares really do suck,â she finally spoke after a minute. âWhich is why we should do something fun, just the two of us,â she added. She wanted to spend some more time with Maxine, especially before the Games ended. It would get them both out of the Games mindset, and maybe it would be good for them. Â
bran-cassidy:
Bran popped the earplugs out, giving up for the day. âOh, you know Iâve been on cloud nine for a couple days now. Did I tell you that Meera said mama a few nights ago?â
Brynnâs eyes widened at that. Her mouth turned into a huge smile. âOh my god, that is so fantastic! Did Rosa get to hear it?â she asked, feeling excited for the two.Â
bran-cassidy:
Bran really tried to focus this time but he still couldnât follow what Brynn was saying. He thought it might have something to do with sausage. âIâm more of a bacon fan myself,â he said.
She just shook her head a bit at Bran, offering a smile. âThatâs not exactly what I said, but bacon is pretty good,â she told him. âHow are you?â
maxinebauer:
âIt could be worse. Iâm glad I donât have sleepwalking nightmares. You donât sleepwalk, do you?â She would probably end up both hurting herself and breaking half the things around her.
She shook her head, lucky that sleepwalking wasnât part of her nightmares. âThank goodness I donât,â she said. She glanced at Maxine. âHow about you? How are your nightmares?â she couldnât help but ask.
rory-caresfoot:
âWell, what do you think about it? Is it nice?â
âI guess so. I mean, Iâve seen a lot worse,â she told the stylist. She paused, figuring she should elaborate. âIâve never been the type of girl who thinks about this stuff, but it looks good from outfits Iâve seen around here.â
rory-caresfoot:
âWell, could you take a look at this then?â She slid a sketch of a long black dress over the table.
âYeah, sure,â Brynn said as she sat at the table, peering at the sketch. Â For her, it was nothing really special. âItâs a dress. So?â she asked.
rory-caresfoot:
Rory took a drag off the cigarette. The interviews were in a matter of days, and she had hardly started working. As someone entered the room, she didnât even look up. âIâm sorry, Iâll be out of your hair soon.â
Brynn shook at the woman. She had only really come here because she wasnât sure of what else to do. âNo, itâs alright. Itâs not like I have anything interesting to do,â she told her.Â
bran-cassidy:
Bran was wearing earplugs and walking around the tower trying to get used to moving without the benefit of sound. It was early to start training, but heâd never been one for procrastinating. When someone stopped him and started talking he tried to read their lips. He got nowhere and decided to just tease the person. âDid you just confess your undying love for me, because Iâm sorry to dissapoint but Iâm a married man.â He gestured to his wedding ring.
Brynn shook her head at the older man, chuckling a bit. âFortunately for both of us, I havenât. Besides, you and Rosa? Definitely donât want to do anything to sabotage that,â she told Bran jokingly. âBut we havenât caught up with each otherâs lives, and I miss that.â
isabelleblackwood:
She chuckled a little as Marley sat by Meera, Gabriel jumping up and smiling down at the baby. âMeea watch!â He commanded, as he turned to Isabelle. âMore mommyâŠplease.â He added as she gave him a look. Doing as she was told she began to blow more bubbles, Gabriel popping them and laughing.
Brynn was really loving the childrenâs interactions with one another. Meera looked absolutely pleased with herself as she reached up to pop the bubbles as well. The sheer giggle made Brynn laugh a little bit. âThis is just so adorable,â she commented, more to herself than to Isabelle. One of the bubbles floated toward Brynn and she reached up, feeling the stickiness of the bubble as it popped onto her own hand. She could see why kids loved activities like this. Itâs why she enjoyed playing with her siblings so much.Â
kaelen-tyr:
When she mentioned coffee, he gestured over his shoulder with his thumb, toward the buffet area. âFreshly brewed,â he stated, or at least he was assuming so based on the strong smell. Maybe it was just modified to always smell like that even when it was cold, it wouldnât surprise him. He was hoping to just kind of slip away again, but her question about why he was on the floor reminded him why he came there in the first place. âHave you seen Bran?â he asked in return, figuring that could also qualify as an answer.
Freshly brewed coffee sounded amazing right about now. She got up, moving toward the buffet area and grabbed a cup. âThis is what I definitely need,â she murmured as she poured herself a cup. While she mixed in the cream and sugar, she glanced at Kaelen, shaking her head. âNot today, no,â she admitted. âAlthough I think last night, he said something about pulling a prank. I didnât even ask.â It was usually better not to know.  âIs there anything I can help you with?â
maxinebauer:
âMotherâs a Victor you know. She used to wake up screaming a lot. Iâm used to it.â She dropped her hand, instead wrapping her arms around Brynn in a hug. âI do it now too sometimes.â
Right, she had totally forgotten about that fact. At the sudden motion of arms being wrapped around her, she almost recoiled and pulled away, but she stopped herself. She couldnât be afraid of hugs, not now. Plus, Maxine was trying to comfort her. So, she brought one tentative hand up to return the hug. âIâm sorry that we all have to have such nightmares,â she murmured. It was just unfair.
electraconduit:
She shook her head to say it was fine, it hadnât bothered her. âWanna talk about it?â She asked quietly, lowering her hands to her side.
Did she want to talk about it? She thought about it for a minute, but she finally shook her head. She wasnât even sure if she could describe what she had dreamt about and how much it terrified her. âNo,â she spoke aloud. She honestly wanted to put it out of her mind.Â
maxinebauer:
Maxine had been sitting on the edge of Brynnâs bed. A normal person would probably find it strange, but that thought never crossed her mind. She wanted some company, and Bran was out. It didnât matter that Brynn was asleep, it was just nice to have someone around. She wanted to enjoy it as long as she could. It would be lonely when the Games ended.
When Brynn screamed Maxine screamed right back. She was a little startled, but that faded quickly. She wasnât entirely sure why she kept screaming as long as she did. She finally stopped though, realizing that it must have been a nightmare. She knew Bran got them too. It must be a Victor thing. She placed a hand on Brynnâs shoulder, not bothering to move it when she felt the girl recoil. âHi.â
Maxine was there, she finally realized. She took a moment to try and collect herself. The last person she wanted to see during this was their newest Victor. âHi,â she breathed out. She set her shaking hand down, swallowing. She felt a little light-headed and stressed. She just needed a moment, but she had to admit Maxineâs hand on her shoulder was keeping her calm. It was surprisingly helpful in that particular moment. âI--I hope I didnât scare you too much.â
