“Hey,” Marley greeted the man softly as she moved to hook her arm around his. “Did you get something to eat?”
“I've nibbled,” Wyatt admitted before turning to kiss her cheek. “And I’ve been looking for you. You look gorgeous.”
rosaline-cassidy:
“Not someone. You.” Maize spoke, eating another appetizer. He frowned a little, yet not at the taste. “How’s Five?”
“Five is good,” Wyatt said. “At least it was last time I went home. Cyrus is still keeping an eye on mom for me.”
The night before Jason was to come to the capitol he’d been wrangling sheep with Jager and kicked square in the face. Now sporting an impressive blackeye. When he noticed someone’s gaze lingering on the injury he put on a solemn face. “Grab the beaten a drink, will ya?”
Wyatt frowned when he spotted the kid with the black eye. “No, but I’m a doctor so why don’t you let me take a look at that shiner?”

Hazel laughed, “Maize doesn’t dance. Might try and persuade him later, who knows?”
“Everybody can dance,” Wyatt argued. “Clearly he’s just choosing not to. What does that say about him? Does he hate fun?”
“I heard a rumor someone snuck some of the old classics from a while back into the DJ’s lineup. I don’t know about you, but I can’t wait. It always makes me feel so nostalgic.”
Wyatt arched his eyebrow. “Well I think your nostalgic is going to be different from my nostalgic.”
rosaline-cassidy:
“Yes. Leave it all to me.” He was never a man of many words, and, in general, Maize preferred eating, rather than talking. Even if no one believed that when they saw him. “Good. But get your own.”
“I will,” he said. “I know a lot better than stealing from your plate. That would only end in someone getting hurt.”
meera-cassidy:
“Ecstatic.” Meera pointed the woman out in the crowd. She was currently drinking straight out of a bottle of vodka. “Such a cerished relationship between us.”
Chuckling, Wyatt nodded. “Clearly. Have you seen Marley yet tonight?”
rosaline-cassidy:
“Smart move.” Maize mumbled, shoving another bite into his mouth and glancing around as he ate. He hadn’t seen Wyatt in ages, but even someone like him wasn’t going to admit it very openly. “More should be like you.”
He laughed. “More people should learn to just not take food in general,” he commented. “Is that good though? I might need to go get my own.”
“This?” Maize confirmed with a mouthful, pointing at the plate on one of he many tables. He raised one thumbs up, refusing to be one to talk a lot. “Don’t take. Mine.”
“I learned a long time ago not to take your food, Maize. No worries,” Wyatt told him. He could still remember how Maize was as a kid with his food and things didn’t seem to have changed much.
meera-cassidy:
Meera looked down at her onesie. It was a little warm in the ballroom, but it was cool out on the balconies and she was prepared to take many breaks. “I’m recreating my first ever ball outfit,” she teased. She’d heard many a story about the time she’d evaded an avox and marched into the ballroom demanding a song for her bedtime.
Wyatt laughed and shook his head slightly. “Well that’s really cute. I’m sure your stylist was thrilled you decided to go with a onsie though.”
meera-cassidy:
Meera waved goodbye to the sponsor, moving with extra comfort through the crowd. She stuck out like a sore thumb in her onesie but she’d never been afraid of attracting attention. “What’s the emergency Thread? Cold feet?”
“Oh gosh no,” Wyatt reassured her. “I was actually wondering if you’d seen Marley anywhere. I can’t find her. Also to ask you why you decided to wear that. Isn’t it hot?”
ameliastyx:
Hazel grinned, taking his hand and spinning herself around him.
Wyatt led her into mass of people dancing while she spun. “Did Maize not want to dance with you?”
Meera plucked at her onesie with a wide grin on her face as the sponsor eyed her up and down. Somewhere in the ballroom, her stylist was still having a mental breakdown over the district nine trainers chosen outfit. One more year and she was free from her capitol-sized prison cell. One more year and she could see the rivers of district five that she so loved. “I didn’t design this myself,” she told the man. She sipped at her martini glass, “but you’re very sweet to think I had such talent.”
Wyatt swept up behind her and smiled. “Well I think it looks lovely regardless,” Wyatt told both the man and Meera. “Excuse me, I need to steal her for a few minutes,” Wyatt said while guiding Meera away from him.
Hazel had arrived early, like she did every year, to get first pick of all the food. After she’d taken the best food for herself, Hazel ventured out onto the dance floor, grinning happily when she saw someone she knew, “Dance with me!”
Wyatt had the night off, which was always reassuring. Knowing he wouldn’t have to leave a the spur of the moment helped put his mind at ease. Then he could relax. Once he saw Hazel he laughed, but nodded anyway. “Alright I’ll dance with you.”

Biography:
Beauty and the Beast. That was what the Capitol always said about his parents. For the for first four years of his life, Wyatt didn’t know his father but he barely remembered that time. All he remembered was growing up with parents that loved him. When he was six, he went from being an only child to a big brother. It was a hard change for Wyatt to adjust to but he managed in the end. Eventually, Wyatt and Cyrus grew close and he realized he would do absolutely anything for his brother. After all, family was the most important.
Wyatt grew up with the threat of the Games constantly looming over him. When he was young his parents took him to the Capitol during the Games and he fell in love with how fast the world was. Everything was bright and colorful. He was happy there, but his mother and father eventually stopped going to the Capitol during the Games. They didn’t need to mentor anymore. Instead they spend their time training Wyatt and his little brother so if the worst happened, they’d be able to survive the Games. Luckily, Wyatt was never reaped. By some miracle he escaped the reaping bowl. His family had already been touched enough by the Games. He could still remember how his mother withdrew after his cousin Gina was killed in the arena. He was only eight when it happened but he still remembered.
After that, they didn’t go to the Capitol much anymore but Wyatt never forgot what it was like. He never forgot the bright colors or the excitement, but he also never forgot the pain. He was nineteen when rebellion broke out again and he wanted to fight alongside his father. Sebastian refused to let either of his boys get involved in the fighting and made Wyatt promise to look out for his mom and his little brother. He agreed, but it was the last time he ever saw his father. Sebastian Thread was killed in the rebellion and Wyatt saw his mother’s heartbreak. He knew it was hard for her without him so he vowed to take care of her, but he also wanted to take care of other people. So, he went to school.
Wyatt became a doctor and his mother was incredibly proud of him. However, he didn’t think it was enough. He wanted to help people. Every year he saw those kids hauled to the Capitol never to come home. He knew how the Games had left its mark on his family. Wyatt wanted to fix it. He applied for a position of tower doctor and got it, unsurprisingly. So many people had been curious about the oldest Thread boy since his parents stopped mentoring. Now they had a chance to see for themselves. Wyatt doesn’t care if he’s put on display though. As long as he is protecting his mother and brother while helping the tributes he’s happy. That’s all that really matters to him.
Yet, life keeps changing for the oldest Thread son. While he had always crushed on Marley Blackwood, he never anticipated falling in love with her. He also never anticipated that she would feel the same way. It was one victor’s ball three years ago that changed everything for the both of them. Since then, Wyatt has been happier than he ever thought possible. Recently, Wyatt proposed to Marley and now he has new people to protect and worry about. Of course, he would do anything for his family. That’s just the type of person he is.

She nodded. “I know that, Wyatt and I’ll be fine. I’ve still got my two prank shops here in the capitol to run, so I’ll keep myself busy.”
“Well that’s good, but still. If you need me you just have to let me know.”
bran-cassidy:
“I’m only being realistic.” She played with the stem of her glass. “If I even try to get back in contact with the rebels out there in the wild I’ll get a lot worse than a prison I’ll be fine, happy even, but as long as a Snow sits in this mansion I won’t get everything I want.”
Sighing heavily, Wyatt rubbed the back of his neck while he tried to figure out some way to help Meera out. Unfortunately, it seemed easier said than done. “Well...if there’s anything I can do for you I want you to tell me, okay? I’m always gonna look out for you.”
